Who was the last act to spend 4 weeks at No.2

If La Roux remains at #2 next Sunday, she would have spend 4 weeks at #2

I'm really surprised this single has done so well, its one track I never thought get so high, let alone spend 3 weeks at #2

wasn't it Take That's Rule The World in late 2007, stuck behind Leona's Bleeding Love!?!

Just checked polyhex.. well done!! Someone give that dude a cookie.

I just remember being annoyed because as epic as Bleeding Love is, Rule The World is also a sensational pop song that will go down in history as one of the 'should have been No.1's'...such a shame that two of the best tracks of the decade were released on the same week :snif:

If Kate Nash wasn't #3 she'd have spent 6 weeks at No.2

Poor La Roux btw :snif: At least Take That lost to the act that has been on Top for AGES, and the current situation is just :/

Lady GaGa Just Dance 3-1-1-1-2-2-2-2- :P

As for just No2’s starting with consecutive:

27/10/07 Take That Rule The World 46-2-2-2-2-

13/11/04 Destiny's Child Lose My Breath 2-2-2-2-

17/01/04 Kelis Milkshake 3-2-2-2-2-

and non-consecutive:

07/07/07 Kate Nash Foundations 2-2-3-2-2-2-

14/12/02 The Cheeky Girls Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum) 2-2-3-2-2-

Then No1's:

17/06/06 Shakira Feat. Wyclef John Hips Don't Lie 54-3-2-1-2-2-3-1-1-1-1-2-2-

24/12/05 Nizlopi JCB Song 1-2-2-2-2-

10/03/01 Shaggy Feat. Ricardo 'Rikrok' Ducent It Wasn't Me 1-2-3-2-2-2-2-

that is all for this decade. :)

Agree totally. Rule The World should have been No.1 for weeks.

I was gonna point out GaGa was last xP

And we have two four-week #2s in about four months assuming La Roux takes #2 again this week.

Without doubt rule the world should have been a number 1 for take that it was so frustrating seeing it sell so well yet staying at number 2, its their biggest selling single by far since their return and has outsold their 3 number 1;s since they returned

I agree, it's one of those No.1s that wasn't.

It gives Rule The World a kind of 'kinky' notoriety in that in the top 200 records of the decade it is way ahead of three of their other singles (from the second incarnation) that actually made number one! I'm sure that, in the future, as it gets played in FA Cup finals, Olympics and other 'events' it will continue to streak ahead! And as someone pointed out ... it just happened to be released at the same time as another great record ... which stopped it being number 1!

#29 - Rule The World 627,137

#58 -Patience 529,250

#149 -Shine 345850

#186 - Greatest Day 310,790

I think it also proves that they can hold their head up in the knowledge that they never really did need the fifth member.
