The hook that goes "When Love Takes Over, yeah yeah" sounds like something Gabrielle would write and include as an album track. But it's certainly inferior to the impeccable stylings of Gabrielle.

I don't think it sounds anything like Gabrielle, but I agree that WLTO is FAR inferior to Gabrielle...and I don't even like Gabrielle.

I really can't hear/see one interesting feature in the song AT ALL. Bores the hell out of me and her voice is grating to the max.

On the basis of a rather ubiquitous non-event phrase like ‘yeah yeah’ your comparison is rather tenuous. You may find posting a youtube video of the said Gabrielle track is considerably more effective than verboseness. :P

 

I personally think Love Don't Let Me Go is still David Guetta’s best effort; still it looks like When Love Takes Over has got a good shot at next weeks No1. :)

Gabrielle's lead single to her last album made UK#42. Personally her last top 40 hit "Stay The Same" sums up the lack of change in her sound over the last 15 years or so which is why her career has stalled commercially. In stark contrast I cannot see When Love Takes Over peaking lower than the Top 2 next week.
