I saw Alex finally at the Indig02 on Friday.I have to say I hate that venue it is just awful and the acoustics are terrible. The sound system seemed too loud at times and the whole place seemed too small for her.I loved Carrie Mac and mark my words she is going to blow up this year.

As for the show we had a long long wait for Alex to come on too long I felt but people were really excited when she did come on.She really seemed pleased to be in London but probably because her entire family came to support her.The place was packed out and I think in violation of every fire regulation but who cared. She entertained, performed and sang her lungs out and every song she did was top notch.Loved Start Without You, Overcome.Listen and Bad Boys the most. There has been alot of talk about whether she should have included a Destinys Child medley and I had thought that this was a poor choice but once she started singing the songs she nailed it and was so good that the audience alljoined in.The show lasted about 1hr 20 mins which was fine but she could have included The music sounds better, What happens on the dancefloor and With or Without You.Her dancers were amazing and her band really good, I am really tempted to see one more show.

I went to her show in Cardiff last month and by Christ, this girl can sing. She's an actual diva, and one of Britain's finest talents! I hope she blows up in America and gets all the success that she deserves.

Ditto to everything!

Shes definately got alot of talent!

I really cant find another british female artist that compares.

Yes leona may be the technical better singer, But alex as a performer is sooo much better.

Im thinking Jessie J, Pixie lott may come close but for me Alex is always no.1

What happened after her debut era? There was so much potential

She left SyCo and joined RCA. That was mistake #1

She then got villified on the XFactor, the media turned against her big time and radio shunned her

This bitchbis crazy talented, she's such a wasted potential due to the UK being the way it is. Confident black women just aren't appreciated at all for some reason. She could've been a worldwide hit with a bit of a push

All Night Long was actually lowkey being played on US radio, before they pulled it cause it flopped in Australia

Thanks, I remember Bad Boys & All Night Long not doing much over here.

Such wasted potential.

I think Before It Explodes is still the ‘hit’ that never was.

She had a successful stint in theatre last year did she not?

Many on here will disagree but her personality post winning the show is 100% what let her down.

She comes across horrendously on anything she’s on. Very me me me. Comes across like she thinks she’s much bigger than she actually is. This site seems to dislike Jessie J for that reason but Alex is way worse than her for that

Post album one her material wasn’t as strong either. And her team really abandoned her they could’ve turned a disappointing week one around with her second era and pushed something on the album to try and salvage things but they just did naff all to help her. She’s probably better off in theatre. Anything where she’s going to be on TV though she needs to just avoid from the get go! Unless she’s playing a part in an acting role

I think you have a valued point as i have heard numerous people say the same thing.

I also feel many think she portrays "fake shock reaction" when she is on shows when she survives eliminations but also shows i knew id make it at the same time.

I still prefer her personality to Jessie J, Jessie J makes everything about herself.

She was horrific on Strictly for that!

And her OTT speeches too about the other contestants as well drove me mad. The week she actually fell into the dance off for the first time was the most genuine reaction we got from her there and that was when she was in danger of going :lol

For some reason I always felt like Alexandra was loved on here though yet people’s distaste was more of a in general thing. Pretty much a reverse Ed Sheeran on here if that makes sense.

It’s going a bit too far to compare her to Jessie J!

I still never figured out why she got SO much flack for her judging stint, yeah, she wasn’t great but she was sitting with Gary Barlow, Tulisa and Louis Walsh so she was actually the least horrific person there.

I have to say the material from her second album was crap. She is so talented but anyone could have done Elephant and everyone was doing the equivalent at the time. She should have played to her strengths. Then again, Syco lose interest in everyone pretty quickly. Who is actually still signed to them?

I think she’s talented, just totally went down the wrong path with her material. I also really don’t understand why she’s so disliked, I don’t think she warrants it at all.
she’s currently in the bodyguard, i saw her over christmas - she was fantastic! i’m glad she’s not just faded into obscurity.

I'm seeing her in The Bodyguard in a few weeks!

Her second album had some absolute beauties - she definitely chose the wrong songs as singles. Between the Sheets was that moment.
