February 28, 201015 yr Heard a Biffy song for the first time last night :o Really liked 'Many of Horror', can anyone recommend any thing else? And of course, Marina was love 'Folding Stars', off Puzzle, is basically a superior version of 'Many of Horror'. I only have their last two albums (Puzzle and Only Revolutions) but both are excellent. The previous three are said to be worth investing in as well.
February 28, 201015 yr haha i bet certain people in this thread are gutted that people with things like kesha and jason derulo in their sigs are coming on here stating their new found love for biffy after hearing many of horror....hes sooooo popular now!! but yeah the fact that both radio 1 and 2 playlisted this track made the coverage for it more widespread - i doubt bubbles will be played on r2 though - it should help the album sell loads more - i actually think the album could go back top 5 when bubbles is released!!

This era has definately made them more popular, outside of their original fanbase. - Surely those who have sort of abandoned them since their debut era's or whatever (i.e like Chris for example) aren't that ignorant to see why they had to/want to change their style, to appeal to a wider audience?
February 28, 201015 yr What they basically did with Puzzle, was isloate their older audience in favour of big radio 1 bumming, with Only Revolutions they took it to the next level. no respect for older fans >_<
February 28, 201015 yr I understand that "they isolate older fans" point of view but some people (like me) have really discovered them with Puzzle and Only Revolutions. Every act has hits and misses during a career. Fans should take each album as it is (and like it or not). That said, Many of Horror is a dangerous song to like...Definitely a sell-out song and horrendously Snow Patrol but, at the same time, very likeable. If they continue that road they'll end up horrible. Edited February 28, 201015 yr by SKOB
February 28, 201015 yr I really like many of horror and i know some people are saying they have sold out on this album but i wouldnt totally agree with that, also they need to sell albums to survive and it ha spaid off this time as only revolations looks set to be their biggest selling album to date.
February 28, 201015 yr Heard a Biffy song for the first time last night :o Really liked 'Many of Horror', can anyone recommend any thing else? And of course, Marina was love if you are willing to go to the earlier Biffy stuff then something like Scary Mary off the debut album Blackened Sky or The Atrocity off the 3rd album Infinity Land. That's if you want to hear stuff similar to Many Of Horror (ie slower Biffy) if you want to go to more obscure areas then b-sides from BS like Breatheher or Hope For An Angel would be worth a listen. Of course there is Machines and Folding Stars (not better than MOH btw) from Puzzle Anybody who likes Puzzle and Only Revolutions would probably like Blackened Sky and Infinity Land as they are quite similar album-wise but Vertigo Of Bliss would probably make you wonder if it's the same band ;) a band who in my opinion have never made a "bad" song, albums or the b-sides
March 7, 201015 yr I have to say I really really like 'Bubbles' - It's a great song and fastly became my favourite from the 5 singles from the album. I think I'd rate them (in order of my favourite) Bubbles That Golden Rule Mountains Many Of Horror The Captain I really like the first 4 but am still "indifferent" to The Captain. I hope it clicks with me one day. And rock bands need to become radio friendly as they get older, or else their older fans will become dis-interested, and won't have many new fans. I'm glad radio has given them more attention, as I may have not been bothered with them otherwise...
March 23, 201015 yr I bought this and think it's one of the best albums of 2009. Not perfect but amazingly versatile with great melodies. This is my first deeper touch to their music. Might buy their GH 2000-2005 next. Or what do you guys recommend? Edited March 23, 201015 yr by SKOB

Might buy their GH 2000-2005 next. Or what do you guys recommend? dont buy the greatest hits just get the albums from that time, particulary Blackened Sky, although if you think OR is amazing, you might not like the older less commercial stuff, you'll probaly like Puzzle.
March 23, 201015 yr Thanks! Will listen to Puzzle Commercial/less commercial is not usually a problem to me but I prefer good melodies

July 22, 201014 yr ^^Loving 'God & Satan' - It deserves to be huge, I'm hopeful the extra exposure from the 'Mercury Music Prize' nomination will result in extra sales for the single - It's already been added as a pre-order on iTunes with 3 bonus tracks
