November 15, 200915 yr Author Wow. Wow. Wow. That was pure emotional drama :o Psycho Doctor! Bring on Christmas :w00t:
November 15, 200915 yr A brilliant episode. Now there's a reason to look forward to Christmas. Loved the idea of calling it Bowie One
November 15, 200915 yr The Waters of Mars Very dark, very sad, very poignant... brilliant, brilliant, brilliant..... especially when the Doctor turned Simon Cowell arrogant. As good as that Easter special was worse than Love and Monster terrible. A brilliant performance by the always brilliant actress Lesley Duncan as good as Michelle Ryan is awful. 10/10 Warning: Awful David Bowie puns coming up.......... PS. Was I the only one to spot the deliberate connection: Space (oddity) Station (to station) on Mars = Bowie Base. David Bowie 1973 UK#3 hit single = Life On Mars = TV Cop show set in the 1970s featuring actor John Simms = who will reappear in the Xmas special as the Master to oversee this incarnation of this famous Starman's Ashes To Ashes where he will reincarnate at the end so that we will be saying Hallo Spaceboy to the next younger Doctor..
November 15, 200915 yr  He's gone crazy But overall, a really great episode, very interesting 5* BBC :P Edited November 15, 200915 yr by nickthenoodle
November 15, 200915 yr I really loved it, it's not like the Doctor to be arrogant though and it looks like that's going to be his downfall... great episode. 9/10 I loved the Master's new look too :P
November 15, 200915 yr I really enjoyed that episode - best one for ages. Excellent acting all round and :o at the Doctor at the end!
November 15, 200915 yr Excellent episode, I love the drama around the story, and the music infused with the episode was good, truly enjoyed it. Bring on the Xmas eppy.
November 15, 200915 yr THAT. WAS. FANTASTIC By far the best of the specials we've had so far. The acting, the plotline, the Doctor going slightly insane...it was all brilliant.
November 15, 200915 yr I wanted to watch this but my dad had his music so loud it made it impossible :(
November 15, 200915 yr Not my favourite of the special episodes. I must be alone in preferring Easter's. The good bits were Lindsay Duncan (as ever) and the Doctor turning all dictator on us but that was about it. The acting from the other crew members was mostly awful and the water monster things were utterly laughable. 5/10.
November 15, 200915 yr Brilliant episode. Loved everything about it. I actually got creeped out by the monsters too LOL :( Can't wait for the Christmas special
November 16, 200915 yr Author ^ Same. What I love about DW is the power to turn something so normal into something terrifying. We've had the shadows, the statues, even nothing in Midnight and now water :o Incredible!
November 16, 200915 yr Loved it, it was a brilliant episode, i didn't spot the Bowie reference, (neither did i spot the x-factor stage invasion on saturday), but it was a great reference, loved Rich's pun in his post. Tennant was good it does look like his arrogance will lead to his demise, the trailer was very good with The Master laughing that evil laugh. I give this one 10/10. PS. Jark you're not the only one who enjoyed the last episode at easter, i liked that one too, but this one was very good.
November 16, 200915 yr Just watched it, I thought it was really good but not that good, looking forward to the xmas specials
November 16, 200915 yr Did anyone else think it was odd that the Doctor abandoned walking to his tardis to go back, go a bit mental, convert a robot and then just use it to access the tardis that he was close to reaching in the first place!
November 16, 200915 yr and the thing is ..... we don't actually KNOW what was causing the humans to go all watery and all!!!! but i bet DR KNEW what it was (see his warning) and with no one to tell him to stop he went all wibblywobbly, totally dismissing the "four knocks", and telling himself that everything CAN BE changed ..... NO MATTER!!!! then adelaide showed him ..... ROLL ON THE LAST TWO I SAY!!!! Edited November 16, 200915 yr by mr jenzie
November 18, 200915 yr LOVED it. Really. Was on the edge of the seat during the whole thing :o Can't wait for Xmas special. Oh and by the way that guy who was saved by the doctor, i.e. his brother was russian, flawless usage of the language, heard ukranian accent though  Finally shows started inviting people who speak foreign languages FOR REAL. (Unlike other spy or crime drama series like Alias...) Edited November 18, 200915 yr by The Fame Pavster
November 19, 200915 yr Excellent first half hour or so, but unfortunately goes a bit silly towards the end with David Tenant running around and shrieking too much.... I thought he'd kind of gotten over that, it's just so.......American really.... -_- Up to that point, it was a pretty tense and grim bit of drama with a lot of tension.... I thought the bit where the Doctor walks off towards the TARDIS just listening to the chaos and the crew being picked off one by one in his helmet com had a lot of dramatic impact as you could see by his expression that he was being torn apart by the decision he knew he HAD to make.... The burden of the Time Lord to not interfere in certain fixed points in time...... Then when he came back to the space station... Well, I honestly thought he was going to shout "Get away from her you b"tch" to be honest...... Still, the epilogue part on earth was actually pretty well done... With Lindsay Duncan killing herself because she knew she should never have been saved... That probably had the greatest dramatic impact of the whole episode..... And brilliantly done, off camera, just seeing the laser flash..... Oh, what HAVE you done Doctor.....? This was absolutely superior in every way to the previous two specials, despite the silliness and the running and the shrieking....
