July 16, 200917 yr I much prefer Fearne to Chris Moyles anyway... even if Moyles get the most listeners. Edited July 16, 200917 yr by FM11
July 16, 200917 yr Some people are pushing the hate a bit too much ... If you don't like them, just listen to some other radios, there're so many ! I can understand why to criticise the playlist, cause it has a big influence on the charts so it is understandable to debate it, but the DJs.... who cares ? You just have to listen to an other station.

You just have to listen to an other station. I understand that, different DJs have different fans, so pretty much it's a hit and miss overall. But the other stations' DJs play the same old and new "very radio-friendly" music (Poker Face on Heart FM didn't have the Po-po-po-poker face bit)... if not to include which is on the playlist, etc. For me, it's pretty much the Chart Show the most important thing to talk about.
July 16, 200917 yr Chicane and Black Eyed Peas( i gotta feeling) both doing very well, im especially pleased for chicane seeing that it is an independant release. Are Take That still in the top 40 today with Said IT All????
July 16, 200917 yr Well in the UK Footprints In The Sand also charted separately but only with its downloads. So I don't really get why Umbrella from JLS can't chart on downloads alone. The thing with Leona it was a double A-side single so both could chart separately but Umbrella is a b-side. But then looking at Bleeding Love's b-side didn't that chart at around #65? RyRy could I have all girl group info please? Leona's Forgiveness charted at #46 with 3,760 sales, and in fact had 3 weeks on the top 200 going 46-64-143. I don't understand this OCC rule with JLS - it doesn't seem right given precedence (either the Leona double-A side (BIT/FITS) or the Leona b-side (Forgiveness) - whichever way the JLS single is looked at, both Forgiveness and FITS charted in their own right and therefore so should Umbrella) and I just wonder if The Sun have actually consulted the OCC or are just havering a bit like usual :o Wonder if we'll have an Airi-L where the single was excluded from all midweek flashes but then included in the final chart on the Sunday? I understand that, different DJs have different fans, so pretty much it's a hit and miss overall. Which version is that FM11? Would love to hear it! ===================== RyRy, can you please post info on the following for today:- Green Day (21 Guns) Master Shortie (DE) Britney (Radar) Ciara (Work) Metro Station (SF) Mucho thanks :)
July 16, 200917 yr Which version is that FM11? Would love to hear it! I don't know yet, but I've heard it twice, but I can tell the 'upbeat intro' and the "Po-po-poker Face bit" is cut out on the song. Also, the bridge is not present (the one with the vocals on). :) I'll try research about that. :D Edited July 16, 200917 yr by FM11

July 16, 200917 yr Just noticed JLS's sales are tailing off a bit quicker than Dizzee's Bonkers:- Tuesday mids:- Dizzee:- 45.5k JLS:- 44.5k Thursday mids:- Dizzee:- 77.8k JLS:- 71.6k Reckon JLS will sell around 100-110k.
July 16, 200917 yr ^Umbrella is available to download on iTunes on its own. I think the reason why Bonkers is doing better than Beat Again is Bonkers has two/three versions. Beat Again has only one. Edited July 16, 200917 yr by FM11

July 16, 200917 yr Yes, they do seem to be falling quickly. Maybe 115k max, at this rate. :P Bonkers sold 114,165 so I think based on current sales 110k absolute max, probably more like 103k-ish.
July 16, 200917 yr ^Umbrella is available to download on iTunes on its own. Clearly a mistake then if the reason is as reported - the bundled sales should have been removed from the Umbrella total and only added to the A-side total as with Leona's Better In Time/Footprints In The Sand and Bleeding Love/Forgiveness.
July 16, 200917 yr ^Umbrella is available to download on iTunes on its own. I think the reason why Bonkers is doing better than Beat Again is Bonkers has two/three versions. Beat Again has only one. Yeah, that's probably accounted for Bonkers lead over JLS at each stage. It doesn't explain why JLS are tailing off quicker though; I think that's just down to JLS having more pre-orders than Dizzee.

That makes sense. I remember 'Better In Time' and 'Footprints...' was separate back then before they made it as one.
July 16, 200917 yr That makes sense. I remember 'Better In Time' and 'Footprints...' was separate back then before they made it as one. What I don't understand is that if the #8 position in the Tuesday mids was made up of:- Umbella individual downloads; Umbrella/Beat Again bundled downloads then in subsequent mids why did they not just simply extract the bundled downloads from the Umbrella overall sales and combine them with the Beat Again sales? Unless iTunes has a reporting problem with it?

I can understand why to criticise the playlist, cause it has a big influence on the charts so it is understandable to debate it, but the DJs.... who cares ? You just have to listen to an other station. Wrong...overall I like the Radio 1 playlist, but it's supposed to be a music station and certain DJs have a knack of making their waffle over-rank the music. No other radio station (that I can access at work) has a playlist remotely like that of Radio 1. It's time they got their act together and made the station more about the music than the presenters. Anyway, shouldn't this be in the thread about the R1 reshuffle?
July 16, 200917 yr Bonkers sold 114,165 so I think based on current sales 110k absolute max, probably more like 103k-ish. Bonkers was removed from iTunes on the Friday though. It was heading for much more than 114k. I imagine JLS will beat Dizzee's sales fairly comfortably. Shame. :(
