Agreed! It's going to be a mix of MJ songs and songs released before the summer started!

Well, Now! 73 does contain a FEW more recent songs - namely Chicane - Poppiholla, Pitbull - IKYWM (Calle Ocho), Noisettes - NFY (top 20 for next week hopefully?) and 3OH!3 - DTM

there are two charts though (albums and a compilations one), so MJ is still gonna be top of that.

so glad there isnt a Now : Michael Jackson

Random climb??

Isn't Tinchy also doing the summer festivals as well? Could be the fest-effect

Lady GaGa is a dance-pop singer from New York City. Born Stefani Germanotta in Yonkers in 1986, she attended the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU while performing at open-mic nights around the city. An early collaboration with rapper/producer Akon led to her signing with Interscope Records, which released her debut album THE FAME in October 2008. She scored a number one hit and a Grammy nomination with her ode to lost, drunken nights, "Just Dance." The song went on to top the charts in several other countries, helping GaGa to develop an international following. The vocalist made headlines at the 2009 Brit Awards when she, along with Brandon Flowers of the Killers, performed with the Pet Shop Boys on a medley of the synth-pop duo's hits, including the classic "West End Girls." - HMV

Oh no! Can can they still play this rubbish? :puke2:

Ohhh NO! Channel 4 are showing 'Don't Upset the Rhythm' :( HOPEFULLY Noisettes are given another song to be televised!

Oh and the "random climbs" must surely be because of the MJ songs falling? (aswell as the fest effect :P)

I'm so hoping 'Poker Face' racks up enough consecutive weeks in the top 40 to beat Nickelback's record. Becoming a million seller in the longrun would be a very nice cherry on top as well. :P

27 weeks in the chart and still #24?

This song will never die xD

I think this has now outstayed JD in the top 40, but I'm probably wrong on that, I'll check... UPDATE: Wow, it has outstayed JD in the top 40 by five weeks already! :o I think this will definitely beat the consecutive weeks in the top 40 record currently owned by either Nickelback or that song which apparently spent 41 weeks in the chart.

Also, LR's IFTK falls out of the top 20 for the first time ever, and they skip it. Hmph. I guess it is really old though, and Pixie is still somewhat new, yet feels older. Falling like mad now.

Coming out of the grass-roots Gilman St. punk scene of the early-1990s Bay Area, Green Day exploded into the mainstream with their third album, 1994's DOOKIE. The trio's punk energy and pop hooks, influenced by first-generation punks like the Buzzcocks, in turn inspired a huge legion of punk-pop followers. Their energy level flagged a bit following the smash success of DOOKIE, but the band's enormously successful 2004 Grammy-winning political concept album, AMERICAN IDIOT, proved they were mature artists and far from a one-trick pony. - HMV

21st Century Breakdown - Discussion

This is the 2nd tune from their recent #1 album in which the album's cover is re-enacted. I hope the tune climbs next week.

How long is Nickelback's record?

It has. JD was only 2 weeks before PF and has been out for a while now

Poker Face also re-climbing who is also "festivaling" this summer. Could climb a bit higher next week
Oh and the "random climbs" must surely be because of the MJ songs falling?

That's a lot of it IMHO.

Anyway, this is blatantly top 20 next week... Still love it

all the slides of MJ are like the week after the xmas songs fall out of the charts in January.

i think MJ will either be xmas No.1 with a new song or santa claus is coming to town

The reason it has good longevity is because it simply does NOT get old! :D NONE of GaGa's songs seem to get old at the moment.
