Well obviously the papers won't spread a rumour of him "denying" this statement, so yeah the statement was more probably fake.

Looking back at the original article it does sound made-up. Offers no supportive evidence for where the quotes from Kanye came from.

If it is true then what an egotistical prick. :/ He's not THAT good, I seriously hate his personality!

Never in a million years, it is ridiculous he thinks he is the new King of Pop. I don't think there will ever be a new king of pop, MJ's music will live on. :)

Even I doubt his ego is that big that he would make that claim, and besides it was never reported in the likes of Billboard, NME, Rolling Stone, BBC websites so I think it is safe to say it was not legit.

 

However, his denial clearly was.

Spot on! His songs aren't even memorable, they don't even stand up to classics like Billie Jean and Thriller.

MJ still IS the king of pop, just like Elvis will always be the King of Rock n Roll...death doesn't change that.

I don't understand the hate myself, especially coming from a load of posters who lick Lady Gaga's clunge when she acts as if she's literally God's gift to music. Kanye is an exceptional talent and if anyone is in contention to became this decade's king of 'pop', it's him.

 

Of course I doubt he actually said it, but some people's double-standards are quite laughable...

The thing is, there won't ever be another king of pop, it will always be Michael, in the same way that Elvis will always be the King of Rock n' Roll, the Beatles are the greatest British group, Bob Marley is the king of reggae, madonna is the queen of pop etc. These titles won't be taken, there's a reason why they're given it in the first place.

 

Don't get me wrong, I love Kanye, but it's just a fact. Plus the thought of Justin Timberlake being King when he's nothing more than a cheap immitation of Jacko for the 21st century is laughable. the only reason people call him that is because he dances like Michael :lol:

I agree wholeheartedly with Jark on this, bar the Lady Gaga part. He's incredibly talented, especially as a rapper/producer. He's way more involved with his music than any other mainstream artist out there, I'd say. He produces most of it himself, writes it, etc. The College Dropout is one of my favorite rap albums (actually, simply one of my favorite albums) of the 21st century. Amazinggg. Jesus Walks, The New Workout Plan. :wub:

 

Plus he makes me LOL when he does ridiculous things like protest an awards show on stage.

 

Also, I like the fact that he blogs. Not many celebrities really do. I mean they twitter now because it's the hip thing to do, but he's actually had a blog for a few years now. Posts some good music too lawlz. He even leaked a Decemberists song.
