Leona's Run and Coldplay's Viva La Vida have gone to #1 without a physical copy ever being available, but those were selling as album tracks based on hype around the songs. They weren't official singles that had no physical as far as I'm aware.

Actually Run was confirmed by Leona to be an official single on Radio 1 chart show before it became available on itunes.

It charted by people downloading the track off of the deluxe edition of her album though. No official download release. (Like Coldplay 'Viva La Vida')

That's just semantics though. In both cases the songs were heavily promoted as "singles" to radio with accompanying videos for the music channels.

And for the record, I think 'Get Sexy' is a brilliant song, the best song I've heard from either GA/Sugas since 'Sexy! No No No'.

Yes. 'Run This Town' is a single download. NOT being cherry picked from an album. (Unlike 'Run' and 'Viva La Vida') 'Run This Town' is an official single (although the other 2 were promoted and given video's like they were official singles, they weren't given a download release or physical for just THAT song, they were "cherry picked" from their respective albums. ;))

 

'Run This Town' has been given it's own Digital Single release.

 

Maybe someone who is better at constructing sentences can word it better, but it's really not that hard to get if you think about it, instead of purposefully trying to make things confusing :wacko:
