thanks Tom :D

I'm pretty certain it's Caroline for Rontvia XXII - I deliberately didn't put a video link to the song in my chart, despite it already being in there :kink:

Aura is Danish, but doing well currently in the German charts (my source of whether a song is decent or not of course)

Caroline is of course Swedish, and is (Cascada) Natalie Horler's slightly less pretty twin sister;

I can't see much difference to be honest :lol:

Whatever rocks your boat :teresa:

ICH BIN SCHNAPPI, DAS KLEINE KROKODIL

that song was so good, it even made the UK top 40

despite being IN GERMAN!

Are we judging good on chart positions these days Rich? :(

What if you loved it then? :P

And chart positions has to be some part of the quality criteria?

I'd say it's a 50-50% subjective to objective criteria to what defines a good song.

Chart position could be that 50% in a way I guess, but if a song "isn't good" at all, and several million people like the song... well..

I can give you two words to automatically prove that chart positions have NOTHING to do with musical merit - Crazy Frog :P

Careful now.. there must be hundreds/thousands of words to automatically prove the opposite! :P

Just while i have my PC iTunes open i thought i'd do a wee Rontvia update

06 || Smack Me || 289

30 || Music Everywhere || 143

37 || Boys & Girls || 135

45 || Headhunted || 123

75 || Mine All Mine || 96

A little proof to everyone else too, i do genuinely adore Rontvia entries.

For Smack Me to breach the Sugababes strong hold and get into my top10 is a huge achievement. It'll take a while to get top5, Now You're Gone is 5th with 338 plays which is 9 plays behind About You Now in 2nd. It'll take a very long time to top my #1 at a massive 484 plays.

:o have a nice time! I've seen both of these acts live before :heart: although Example really only has a couple of decent songs :lol:
LOVED IT :wub: Lily was great as was Example actually. I was pleasently surprised at how good he and his songs were! :o Especially his new single :wub:

Nuh uh, you only have to show good songs that didn't chart well - good songs charting well doesn't prove that charting well is mutually exclusive with being good, but good songs not charting well disproves it! :P

Pfft.. now you're just picking the flowers you like the most - I never said charting well proves that the song is good, just that the 50% criteria for it being so, is fullfilled :P

It definitely proves something in form of some positive sort of quality in the songs.

And it can well be that the good songs that doesn't chart well, just hasn't been able to come into the marked for evaluation, but I know you've already figured that out.

And even if they have, and still haven't mega charted... well, you're still only 50% correct Kopecka, just deal with it :drama: :smoke:

Ah, but you haven't given a reason WHY it should have a 50% bearing? :smoke:

Respond to this first pls -_-

Then you can tell me what actually defines a good song, and answer me why you disagree on this statement of mine:

I'd say it's a 50-50% subjective to objective criteria to what defines a good song.

And if you agree, then there's nothing to talk about now, is it? :P

Besides, you haven't said anything about WHY "good songs not charting" disproves my point. First come first served tbh -_-

So serve me :kink:

I can give you two words to automatically prove that chart positions have NOTHING to do with musical merit - Crazy Frog :P

good songs not charting well disproves it! :P

:P And you know.. first you say that if a bad song charts well, it disproves me - and automatically agree on charting as a form of measurement for quality. Then you say.. yeah.. the opposite, which is really bi***y -_-

So 50% it is then :smoke:

well seeing as 90% of my entries are sent before charting in any territory you'll see that I actually don't use this factor to determine my entries :lol: I'd far rather send something that hasn't charted anywhere in fact so it's new to more people!

as far as the Kopecka/Greenfroze chart debate goes, I'd say that of course it has some factor in quality at least
