Year End Survivor Results
#108 Results 1st - 21/40 Votes (52%) Initially released by the label Drowned In Sound, 'Oh My God' first charted in 2004 but only peaked at number 66 before it got re-released two weeks before Kaiser Chief's debut album Employment came out in early 2005 and landed inside the top 10 at 6. It was their highest charting single until 'Ruby' came along in 2007 and gave them their first chart topper. The band then dropped another version of the track with Lily Allen on featured vocals and that was a top 10 success too. The song appears as a soundtrack for the video game Driver : Parallel Lines. 2nd - 19/40 Votes (47%) Becoming the unfortunate bridesmaid once again in these survivors (More Than... also came 2nd in it's survivor) is the late Aaliyah with her 2000 hit 'Try Again' which she explained was about encouraging a potential partner not to give up when she initially rejects his advances. Hit machine Timbaland was a vital part of Aaliyah's career, writing the track along with Static Major and even appears in the classic video. 3rd: Safri Duo - Played A Live (The Bongo Song) 16/32 votes (50%) 4th: Daniel Bedingfield - James Dean (I Wanna Know) 16/30 votes (53%) 5th: Christina Aguilera featuring Lil’ Kim - Can’t Hold Us Down 15/29 votes (52%) 6th: Fergie - London Bridge 17/30 votes (57%) 7th: Craig David - Hot Stuff 12/28 votes (43%) 8th: Vanessa Jenkins and Bryn West featuring Sir Tom Jones and Robin Gibb - Barry Islands In The Stream 21/35 votes (60%) 9th: Ronan Keating featuring Yusuf - Father And Son 13/30 votes (43%) 10th: Leon Jackson - When You Believe 12/35 votes (34%)

Also 'Jump' for me which is a fun bop! Don't think I've heard that Ultra Nate cover before though and it sounded alright.

Chart Battle Rewind: Timbaland vs Mark Ronson
Voted 'Stop Me' but both are good!

Julian rates every 21st century Top 40 hit
Week 11 Rik Waller... oh dear lol. Not a fan of any version of that song that isn't Dolly's really. 'Come Closer' is a solid dance piece and another great track by Creed there. 'Been There Done That' sounds fine, not sure I was too familiar with that although the chorus does ring some kind of bell when listening. Sexual Guarantee' a funky number from Alcazar as per but no 'Crying On The Discotheque'. 'Pulsar' is fine and rather liked the Cornershop track and the dance version of 'Lovely Day' is unremarkable but at least it doesn't annoy me like Bill's does ☠️ Week 12 'Me Julie' does come on in my mates car regularly, is a bit of jam ngl whilst still being a stupid track. Not crazy on 'Ain't It Funny', a bit boring for me actually. 'Wrong Impression' is my favourite of these though and bought it at the time, very nice track. 'A New Day Has Come' is strong in radio mix form and a really good Celine track generally. 'Toxicity' is a tune, some cool guitar stuff with the tempo speed ups in the track as is the standard with a lot of their music.

The Final: Year End Survivor #108
I know this is a week or so ago now but it turns out the tie had been broken but the thread hadn't been closed (or had been but was reopened again) thus causing another tie.. could someone break it again please!

Definitely Disturbed. A genius cover. I don't mind The Vamps one either though, it's a bit fun.

Round 4: Year End Survivor #111
The best version of 'What Hurts The Most' for me sorry not sorry. 'Shooting Star' is a banger too so would be a shame to see that be targeted now (although I'd still probably have to go for it myself soon). 'Temperature' again. Don't get the fuss over it.

Round 7: Year End Survivor #110
'Trouble' was my fave remaining oops. Still on Hot Chip.

Round 1: Year End Survivor #112
Gone for 'Soldier' as I hadn't heard it till last night and it sounded dull. Don't care for that BEP song either so fine with that going too!

Eva for me. Beautiful cover. (The Corrs version of 'Dreams' is the only cover of that I'd actively listen to but Deep Dish an okay dance version too I suppose).

Yeah Aurora wins here. Always really liked it, such a breezy, chilled out dance version of an already great song itself. Everything I know of allSTARS* I've enjoyed too along with the show itself *. but this cover is an exception.. it isn't good oops.

The first one of these that I like both a fair bit. Will hand it to Westlife as it also has the red nose day nostalgia!
