OK Jokes aside. I've gone with RFC's brilliant idea.

 

To decide the 100 Songs that will make it through to the ROTY Group Stage you must 'nominate' 2 songs in this thread.

As soon as 50 individual people have done this the thread will close, so I apologise if you miss out but it's a very interesting and different way to decide which songs are actually included and EVERYONE will be able to vote in the next stage.

 

The Rules are:

 

1] The song must have been released this year [between Jan and Dec] and they can be from any country's chart. Songs like Lady Ga Ga's 'Just Dance' for example are eligable even though a UK release is not due until 2009.

 

2] Album tracks are not allowed only singles.

 

3] Songs that were on any country's chart in 2008 that had a release in 2007 or in any previous year are not eligable. OneRepublic's 'Apologize' and Alicia Keys' 'No One' are examples of this.

 

4] A track that has previously been in a BuzzJack ROTY Contest cannot be voted for. [This means Leona Lewis' 'Bleeding Love' even though it had huge success globally in 2008, it was in last year's competition.]

 

5] Please read the thread carefully before posting as duplicates of songs already mentioned will be ignored. If this becomes the case and we reach 50 posters with duplicate songs included, the thread will continue until we have 100 different songs.

 

6] One artist [Rihanna for example] can have two songs make the final 100 but please try and post songs from two different artists when making your decisions to increase diversity.

 

7] Please do not post any other comments in this thread other than your nominations as it makes watching the post count a lot easier.
