Hey everyone,

We've been receiving feedback from members on the site and the general opinion is that the majority of active posters would like the AF's to be cut down, because of this we looked at the AF's and based on the general activity decided to remove the following AF's:

1. Aerosmith

2. Amy Winehouse

3. Avril Lavigne

4. Backstreet Boys

5. Blur & Gorillaz

6. Bon Jovi

7. Dido

8. Evanescence

9. Garbage

10. Green Day

11. Jackson Family

12. Joss Stone

13. Lucie Silvas

14. My Chemical Romance

15. Razorlight

16. Red Hot Chili Peppers

17. S Club

18. Scissor Sisters

19. Texas

All of the moderators of the above forums have been notified that they're being removed. We're going to archive them within the genre forums in which they belong, the removals should be happening within the next few days.

Cheers,

Management

Hmmm whilst i agree with the removal of some of those forums, some are on the verge of a comeback and could get busier... Like Green Day, Avril... etc

Evanescence wont be busy for a while :P

I agree, which is why we're not merging them and only archiving them. :P If there's re-newed interest in any of the archived forums it only takes a few clicks to put them back. ^_^

Sadly, but fairly, Dido's forum being removed. :( Flop albums all the way :nocheer:
no great loss for me, I don't use any of them...I'm surprised the Lucie Silvas forum lasted this long, her last single of note was in 2005 :heehee:
Its a disappointing move but a very understandable one....its a good idea that they can in the future be brought back as mentioned acts like green day who have a new album on the way may re new interest in the forum.
Good move. Some of the forums needed to go. I am a moderator of one of them and there's nothing but spam that can be posted in it. Doesn't bother me at all, it's for the good of the site. On the Green Day subject, I don't even think there's a topic about their new album at all in their AF! It just used to get zilcho activity.

sad but not surprised to see Dido going

it was like a graveyard in there :heehee:

Im suprised the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Jamelia & Black Eyed Peas survived tbh.

Im pleased were finally getting rid of some of them though.

Blur & Gorrilaz :o

No loss tbh. Little loss but more activity to the genre forums.

This is pleasing. Looking at the list the only one with a real case for staying is Green Day, but if it's true that no one's even posted about their new single or album in it then it does deserve to go.
thanks for the update. too many forums are/were inactive so this is the best decision. there were too many, i thought, anyways.

Texas :( I wish i'd posted more now

I didn't even realise Lucie Silvas had a forum.

i posted in the tazas forum a bit but there was never anyone in it i dont know why people vote yes for forums then never post in them it defeats the purpose of voting yes stilll this clear out will help combat all that and thatsa positive move for buzzjack i think
shame about the jackson family one but when i looked in there the other day there were hardly any new posts so it's understandable. hopefully lots of mj fans will come on here during the tour and we'll have a protest to open it up again :)

FINALLY. The original rule on never removing forums was never going to work.

Mind you after that, we're only going to be left with the female pop stars aren't we?

I don't really bother with the AFs, although the only ones which ever half tempted me are the ones which are going (Texas, Garbage, Dido)

There will still be a fair few non female solo pop AFs, but I agree it will be as skewed as ever. Unfortunately, some of the main flatlining AFs were non female pop ones.

A little surprised at Green Day going and The Libertines staying. I mean ... I actually like Pete Doherty - but that forum has had so few posts! And although Green Day has not many posts ... the band is beginning a resurgence at the moment.

J-Lo should go ... she's more known now as a 'bad' actress rather than a singer.
