2026 US/Israel war with Iran, Supreme Leader dead
Was reading the thread we had back when Solemaini got assassinated, specifically because I remembered making a post on why attacking Iran was a stupid idea that any warmonger wouldn't be going full throttle on. Interesting thread to link so I'll do that at this time because we had a lot of discussion there on why it was a spectacularly stupid idea. ^I agree with this guy, he seems pretty smart. In that Trump is very much looking to wrap up the war and say that 'it was a complete victory, very complete', and stocks are rallying again. No sign of committing to the bit. Netanyahu will though, but hopefully price shocks on this will be small? Too early to say still.

UNKNOWN PLEASURES XXXV - The Results
well I am doing... okay, I liked that Maybe Psychic was such a chill downbeat entry and it felt very classically Unknown Pleasures to me, thank you for the votes so far most of my votes need to be doing far better (over half the points of Lambs are mine, what?), so I guess I'm team Radio Aurora

The Pop Factor: Season 2 • Judges' Houses Results
I am very glad to see LiSA get this far (and it's because I like her so much that I paid attention here in the first place), though I was hoping to see more of her early stuff that I got into her for show up - Oath Sign is an absolute banger that you should all check out. Eric and The Chicks both did very well too and were interesting to see songs from, shame to see them gone also.

ooh I knew there was a reason I thought I'd seen the name of your song before, possibly I've even heard it. I haven't seen that show (a TV show spinoff of the films I believe), only Ghost In The Shell content I've ever seen is the excellent original 90s film, but hype, that has a vibes advantage for me and Yoko's always good value.

2026 US/Israel war with Iran, Supreme Leader dead
Mojtaba Khamenei is the new Supreme Leader. Most influential son of the former Supreme Leader and from what I can tell your standard issue grey eminence, I expect nothing much will change on this front. The US-Israeli attacks are looking horrendous, the images from Tehran apocalyptic, with thousands dead. Along with great economic instability across the world, horrendous war from the American administration.

aww the anime opening one didn't get chosen this is going to be chaos, although I say that as from my perspective I'm going into this with something I would never choose to enter otherwise - but it is very fun so I'll allow that

Ian Huntley has died in prison
I know what he meant. I also think it's borderline obsessive and disturbing to be bringing up unrelated murderers and essentially hoping that the same will happen to them. It isn't a positive outcome that Huntley has been murdered in prison.

Ian Huntley has died in prison
Shame because of what? What is the implication here? God I absolutely despise the obsession culture has with murderers, despise them but also forget them - they deserve nothing less. Holly and Jessica would have been about my age had they lived and lost however many years of life in the future, that's the biggest tragedy here, not whatever happens to the monster that murdered them or any like him.

Sweden (Melodifestivalen) · Eurovision Song Contest 2026
having heard Felicia for the first time tonight, that is some QUALITY EDM, to say nothing of her commanding the stage with that performance - that's going to have a long life in Eurovision circles great winner even if I'd have been also happy with half of the rest of the final winning, but only really one winner there in the end

I was probably a bit hasty, a focused search has me right down a rabbit hole of Egyptian, Lebanese and other Arabian pop, submitted something iconic.

Ian Huntley has died in prison
whether or not this waste of oxygen survives, and I give very little thought as to whether that will be the case, we shouldn't be hearing about murders in prison, wasn't even six months ago Ian Watkins was murdered.

BJSC 182: Final Results
Congratulations John, absolutely not my pick as a winner (was somewhere down in the 30s for me ) but a decently fought battle for the top, I did enjoy Pagasa, though I wish I was as into it as the rest of the alt bloc, Hendinia would have been a good winner but it's a fine third, er, second placer. Not that it was unexpected, but ouch at the song that was bottom of my semi rankings and that I thought had no chance (possibly related phenomena) knocking me out with a last second surge. Good to see some insights and thank you for some wonderful hosting Sabrewulf, very professionally put together and all done very speedily.
