Participation numbers have always fluctuated up and down throughout the nearly 18 years of BJSC. It’ll continue to fluctuate regardless of what you do. As others say, people know where we are and we will be here for them when they have time in their busy schedules, or a banger they want to share, or just because they fancy it this month. Rather have people here because they want to participate than feel like its an obligation or chore

i agree. BJSC does have a sweet spot in the 45-55 range where there’s just enough folks to run a pair of reasonably sized semis and then have a final that’s not too wild in size. It makes listen throughs and the final results shorter and so works better for peoples schedules. And after a certain point it starts to feel more like a chore than someone you do for fun because you have so many songs to listen to and rank. On a site that barely strings together 50 active users a week I think we’re doing just grand
