Posted April 2, 20196 yr bo_efYhYU2A With Shallow still dominating global charts, and cementing itself as a massive seller what are your thoughts on how it will hold up over time? Will it go down as a Gaga classic song with regards to its impact and sales? Is it going to join the likes of Poker Face, Bad Romance, Born This Way and more and be remembered in a decades time? Will Shallow be a CLASSIC among her discography? DISCUSS~
April 2, 20196 yr Not on the same level as the others mentioned but definitely her most recognisable song since at least The Edge of Glory, more likely Born This Way. Probably remembered more as that song from the film - and it will be representative of this more.. stripped back, getting the public back on side phase
April 2, 20196 yr I'm honestly at the point where I think this is gonna go down as her signature classic 😮
April 2, 20196 yr I think this will be right up there! I think it'll be better remember than any of her other singles bar the three mentioned in the original post. It'll be interesting to see how this has affected the legacy of Million Reasons as that was becoming her 'slow stand out' moment especially after the Super Bowl.
April 2, 20196 yr Author I think it will too. Just Dance, Poker Face, Born This Way and Bad Romance probably won't ever be overtaken in terms of classic status but then this could well be the next one to complete her 5 most stand out moments.
April 2, 20196 yr Easily! I think after Bad Romance and Poker Face it will be 'THE' Gaga hit. It appeals to such a wide range outside of Gaga's normal fanbase. Finally it's her Oscar win which has cemented it's status already tbh. Ironic since it's not the best song on the soundtrack at all that goes to Always remember us this way

Also, it sounds so timeless - much more timeless than pretty much anything else she's done bar maybe Bad Romance which is out of the realms of time and space itself ~

I honestly don't think Just Dance is particularly 'classic' for Gaga - I'd probably put it on par with Paparazzi and Telephone ahead of it, potentially Million Reasons too.
April 3, 20196 yr Absolutely. I'd put Poker Face, Bad Romance and now Shallow as her signature classic hits.
April 3, 20196 yr Top 5 Gaga classics: Bad Romance Poker Face Born This Way Million Reasons Shallow 'The Edge of Glory' surely moreso than 'Born This Way' and 'Million Reasons'?
April 3, 20196 yr 'The Edge of Glory' surely moreso than 'Born This Way' and 'Million Reasons'? I don't know, haven't heard it in years publicly.. maybe it differs from market to another. BTW has the advantage being the eternal Pride anthem though
April 3, 20196 yr Author 'The Edge of Glory' surely moreso than 'Born This Way' and 'Million Reasons'? As much as I want to agree with this (because TEOG is my favourite single from her), I can't deny that Born This Way is much more well-known and ever-present. Obviously being around gay culture/clubs, as mentioned above it's a staple Pride anthem and gay club soundtrack number whether people want it to be or not. It's the gay anthem of a generation! Maybe i'm just being biased as part of LGBT culture, but i'm sure even away from this, it's a lot more heard day-in than TEOG. In the US, Million Reasons was big, but here I agree, it's not a classic for her by any means.
April 3, 20196 yr 'Shallow' is probably her third most classic song. Bad romance > poker face > shallow
