Do move if it's better suited for indie and I couldn't see a thread but since it's coming for top 40 this week I figured that it should have a thread. This is nice and quite relaxing based off a couple of listens now. Can definitely see the Billie Eilish vibes here (who Tate herself has been dubbed the Canadian version of). Really? Didn't think it was cos of TikTok
Unlike the songs that are TikTok hits, this was doing nothing in the charts then it was added to the playlists like HH, then it started charting the next day that's the pattern of a label-pushed song |

Enjoying Buzzjack's complete non-reaction to this, one of the most surprising top three hits in a long time for me, I'd have thought low top 10 at best! Guess it's taken advantage of a particularly low sales period.

My Future showed us the lady herself is doing a perfectly good job at being a poor man's Billie Eilish. Think we'll be needing something a bit more powerful from the Bad Guy hitmaker next time lest she's branded a poor man's Tate McRae.

I have enjoyed this song less and less every time I've heard it, it really just comes off painfully derivative. I don't know if she's some kind of industry plant who was engineered to be so similar to Billie Eilish or if that's just the type of music that she happens to make anyway and it became popular organically but either way, it just sounds like Poundland Billie Eilish.
Maybe it's unfair of me to base my opinion on other songs that do the same thing better when, in a vacuum, I'd probably have quite liked this song. But... it's just impossible to avoid the comparison in my head. |

Honestly, I love the song and think it's much better than anything Billie has put out recently. A lot of her other stuff is really good too, hope she doesn't become a one hit wonder!
