Welcome to the results of my Week 5 NMTB Quiz. Thanks to the 28 people who entered, we got a healthy turnout in the end.
You had to name the artist and title of each of the 25 intros, as well as answer some bonus questions for extra points. I always seem to under-estimate how well people do in these quizzes so I will definitely have to make them a little harder next time (although having said that, only two players correctly identified all 25 artists and titles!) I knew #2 sounded familiar, can't say I've heard that one in a couple of years though! (and semi-ironic given the number of songs I guessed U2 for...)

Good start - I have that LMC one on a compilation album so I recognised it, but I think the radio often skipped that bit so can see why it was the least guessed of those 5.

I was wondering what messed up my order and now I know it was 1 and 2, they sounded way too similar, I have no idea how people got either of them! (I've listened to Rain on Me only a handful of times so maybe that's on me, but still, it was a really short clip!)

Wait I put Band Aid 20 as well and I DEFINITELY know that piano is from it, 30 doesn't start with a piano unless I'm remembering it wrong?

Never heard that Man U song but I've had the Status Quo one on my playlist this month so just assumed that was the non-#1! Yay for one of my many stabs at U2 paying off at least.

 I can probably count the number of times I've ever heard 'Come On You Reds' on one hand but that melody is so distinctive!Oops not getting U2 or Boomtown Rats! The latter is especially annoying. That version of 'We Will Rock You' was... a thing

Well I thought LMC v U2 would be the least correctly guessed as was such a short clip and I think was the last one that I managed to get after a few listens!
Interesting to see what the 8/28 one will be now. |

Yeah the clip of Take Me To The Clouds Above was that bit I don't usually hear when it comes on, can see why you left the rest out of there as that would have really given it away! I already thought Band Aid 20 was a pretty strange number one to include here but little did I know it would get even more random with Come On You Reds
I certainly wasn't getting that!I did go for Shotgun as most guessed oops. |
