True - but since a great many fans seem to be buying it before that, how much more of a boost can it get?

I think the fans by and large WILL buy it anyway, the performance is about convincing those who are unsure or perhaps haven't heard it - and Alex thrives on live performance IMO

As much as i loved Alexandra on X Factor and voted for her every week, i'm not going to buy Bad Boys due to simple fact that i don't like it. It sounds very cheesy, uninspiring and generic to me but then again it's better than most songs in the chart currently.

I'll wait for her album and will buy the amazing The Silence.

She's number 1! :yahoo: :w00t:

Im soo happty for her, she deserves it!

It may be a bad song to you, but to those who are buyin, they obviously like it!

maybe, but half of them buy it because it's her and her first single and they remember the great time on XF last year, in the time test it won't stay.

Hmm, looks like Alexandra is going to kill a streak of good #1s that's been running since JLS (I'm counting I Gotta Feeling because I only started hating it a few weeks after it returned to #1) (speaking of IGF, it's still top ten and will remain top ten for ages once more thanks to the goddamn X Factor :()

Yes that's why Leon, Shayne and Steve got their second single to #1.

LOL I doubt it. X-Factor finished last year. Yes, the hype may still be surrounding her, but its a good pop song that fits in today's charts. And if people are buyin, just cuz they remember how good she was last year...doesnt mean that that is the reason that ppl bought the single.

Is that wy Leona's bleeding Love was such a success? Bcoz they remember how good she was last year and tahts the only reaosn they bought her single? No.

You either love or hate the song and judging by the majority they love it, cuz she's number 1 at the mo! :cheese:

Robbie @ #10 and #22.

Lostprophets @ #56.

Mr Hudson @ #85.

Gracious K @ #104 (I personally hope this will go top 40, it's mega!)

I think Robbie has more to gain from tonight performance...

His song talks to all family I think and he is not number 1 and after not a very good era of his career... I think he will do extremely well for number 2.

PS

in any other week to be after 12 hours 10 and 22 is a cretin number 1... shame for him.

8. Bodies - Robbie Williams

81. White Lies - Mr Hudson

102. Migraine Skank (Main Mix) - Gracious K

134. Papillon - Editors

Editors finally make an appearance.

Come on Editors!

'Papillon' is one of my songs of the year, it at least deserves to do better than Mr Hudson's $h!te second single! =[

Will be interesting to see the positions after Robbie has performed - I'm surprised Alex has got to number 1 so quickly and thats even before the X-Factor performance.

I think Robbie's sales will last throughout the week, however I can see Alex's single being a bit frontloaded - probably wrong, but I can just see Robbie's opulation gorwing after the performance.

132. She's Got Me Dancing - Tommy Sparks

I believe this is being used on an iPod ad.

That just shows how purvasive XF is :( - that even a relatively weak song like BB can storm to #1 :puke:

Maybe people just like the song, X Factor didn't get Shayne's 2nd song to #01, nor did it get Leon's to #01. It's a very catchy pop song aswell, which is probably why it's at #01...X Factor alone doesn't get you this kind of lead.
