October 8, 200915 yr Another British number one! ^_^ He's infinitely more successful in the US than here it seems.
October 8, 200915 yr YESSSS for Jay Sean - very pleased for him! Almost a shame James Blunt had to do it first (though I prefer Blunty) as the tag of the first British artist/male to do so for a decade would have given great publicity! I hope this is reported extensively here still! Very proud!
October 8, 200915 yr YES! So glad BEP are out of #1, surprising they fell to #5! Since Britney entered outside of the Top 100, she'll debut big next week, I'm thinking Top 3, with a chance of being #1? Her sales will have to exceed +250k to pull that off.
October 8, 200915 yr finally jay sean made it to number 1 in the US  it's great to see British talent finally recognized in the states !!!!
October 8, 200915 yr 1-5 after all that time at the top  It is lacking energy now to stay at #1. :heehee:
October 8, 200915 yr finally jay sean made it to number 1 in the US  it's great to see British talent finally recognized in the states !!!! 1-5 after all that time at the top  well done to Jay :D I don't think there's anything to be proud about Jay Sean. His song was designed SPECIFICALLY for the US market, released by a US company, produced by US producers. It was a song MADE for American radio. There's nothing British in it besides the fact the singer was born in the UK (it's not like he even has an accent in the song). When "You're Beautiful", "Rehab", "Viva la Vida", "Smile", etc. were hits in the US, it made sense to celebrate since they were British songs, by British producers which, even though were not originally for the US market, made it big there anyway. That's not the case with Down...
October 8, 200915 yr it's still a big personal achievement for him and his career, regardless of who produced the song Jesse McCartney and Ryan Tedder (Americans) wrote and produced Bleeding Love, doesn't make it any less of an achievement for Leona as she made the song her own
October 8, 200915 yr Yeah I think that's irrelevant, the music Jay was making more, for example 'Tonight' was in the same vein and was created and released to the British market..
October 8, 200915 yr Miley's a gazillionaire and famous the world over . The #1 will mean more to Jay Sean - he deserves it.
October 8, 200915 yr Fantastic for Jay. Hopefully he will get lots of publicity for this over here and will help boost his chances of a UK number just that little bit more! :D

It was a song MADE for American radio. There's nothing British in it besides the fact the singer was born in the UK (it's not like he even has an accent in the song). He holds the British passport so he's british, that's why all Brits should be proud of him for reaching the US BB Hot 100 number 1 which is a huge achievement in itself  ... Who cares about who produced it if it helps establish him as a major artist in the States, so be it... We all know that the only 3 ways to make it Stateside is : 1-either to work with famous US producers, 2-or to feature a well-known US rapper, 3-or to sound R&B...
October 8, 200915 yr Surprised that BEPs fell to #5 but I knew they wouldn't be #1 for much longer. Glad that Jay Sean has the new #1, good song.
October 10, 200915 yr 26 consecutive weeks / half a year for one artist . One incredible feat for them.
