October 25, 200916 yr Dominos, awesome song, hope it continues to climb  I haven't heard 'Pencil Full Of Lead' [THANK GOD!]. Is it about maintaining a stiffy or something? :kink: No, it's about how Paolo has loads of things, but 'best of all he has his baby and nothing's gonna bring him down'. It's awful, yet I love it. His pencil is one of the things he has. Edited October 25, 200916 yr by BrayFish
October 25, 200916 yr Author My thoughts exactly! I can usually see the appeal in artists even if I don't like them personally but his success has always baffled me  Dreadful singer and awful songs. I haven't heard 'Pencil Full Of Lead' [THANK GOD!]. Is it about maintaining a stiffy or something? :kink: It would appear to be the bast*rd child of Mambo No 5 and Reete Petite :(
October 25, 200916 yr 28 (from 17) Jay-Z feat. Rihanna & Kanye West - Run This Town [D] http://a1.phobos.apple.com/us/r1000/007/Music/47/1e/f5/mzi.mirfanvh.100x100-75.jpg Chart Run: 1-3-4-5-6-10-17-28 [8 wks] Format: download only track Considered one of the best lyricists to emerge in the wake of the Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac's deaths, Jay-Z has since carried the flag of hip-hop narrative skill. His Roc-A-Fella family had already created a solid reputation based on Jay-Z's 1997 debut. As his fame has grown, so has his tendency to bring more R&B production elements into his work, creating a club-friendly, danceable version of east coast gangsta hip-hop that hasn't diminished his reputation as a preeminent force in rap. Perhaps even more importantly, Jay-Z has become a powerful music impresario. In his role as president/CEO of Def Jam in the early 2000s, he fostered the careers of popular R&B singers Rihanna and Ne-Yo, and enjoyed a high profile as a co-owner of the New Jersey Nets basketball team. His long relationship and eventual marriage to superstar Beyonce has further endeared him to fans - HMV Video here: Chart history (Year peak title): Jay-Z 1997 30 Can't Knock The Hustle (Jay-Z Feat. The Followill brothers Caleb, Jared, and Nathan (along with their cousin Matthew) play a straight-ahead, hard-driving brand of rock & roll that owes more to Crazy Horse and the Rolling Stones than it does to Molly Hatchet. Their debut album, 2003's YOUTH & YOUNG MANHOOD showed them to be an earthier equivalent to garage-rock contemporaries like the White Stripes and the Strokes. - HMV Video here: Chart history (Year peak title): 2003 53 Holy Roller Novocaine EP 2003 22 What I Saw EP 2003 23 Molly's Chambers 2003 51 Wasted Time 2004 61 California Waiting 2004 16 The Bucket 2005 24 Four Kicks 2005 41 King Of The Rodeo 2007 18 On Call 2007 13 Fans 2008 01 Sex On Fire 2008 02 Use Somebody 2009 29 Revelry Album Discussion Thread Here
