how tf did THAT happen?..... lucie lost to the double take twins (off the fast show)? oh yeah this show aint fixed is it <_< .

lucie was clearly in the top 4 competitors, so how tf did other, weaker, frankly rubbish acts get through? FIX. i wouldnt be surprised if she was a sacrificial lamb, deliberately axed to cause an uproar, and watch the ratings soar... well it will backfire because many of us will either stop watching or stop voting. no way on earth was lucie in the bottom two...

im going to complain.

I've just watched the show and was surprised to hear backing singers on the Rock DJ performance.

I don't think that's fair, as surely it's the performers vocal talents that are up for scrutiny, especially in the run off.

I could say I'll stop watching.....but I probably won't....unless Stacey goes. If Stacey goes I think it really could blow my interest in this years X factor into Oblivion. Stacey's so talented

Because apart from Stacey, Joe and Olly the rest aren't worth watching....maybe Jedward too but it's not for the right reasons.

Cowell 'consulted show boss over vote'

Simon Cowell consulted The X Factor's executive producer Richard Holloway before making his controversial decision to vote against Lucie Jones, a report has claimed.

According to The Sun, Cowell and Holloway were seen "in deep discussions" during an advert break following the announcement that Jones would compete against twins John & Edward in last night's sing-off.

A source said: "[Cowell and Holloway] seemed to be discussing what to do. Should they get rid of Lucie, who can obviously sing really well, or finally get rid of the twins?"

Jones was later eliminated after Cowell took the judges' verdict to deadlock for the second week running. John & Edward were saved because they had polled higher than their rival in the earlier viewer vote.

The insider added: "The producers always claim that Simon doesn't know how the voting goes before he makes his decision. But after the intense conversation with Simon, Holloway was seen whispering in the ears of judges Dannii [Minogue], Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh."

As much as I do find the twins good comic value this was a complete joke. Everyone should now vote John & Edward to complete this farce of a show.

Cowell insisted that he had been surprised by the outcome while speaking on The Xtra Factor last night. He also claimed that Jones's axing was not his fault.

Yup clearly a weeks worth of headlines was better for the show. Sad times.

Ratings for last night though :o

The funny thing when the twins auditioned in the early stages, Simon did not want them in the final 12. Lucie auditioned and she got 4 yes's

I can't work out... out of the 2 acts that were in the bottom 2 that had better star quality that could get better as the competition goes along. Simon had the casting off to ditch them they were his biggest threat to his acts, you would have thought he get rid of them he had the chance and he blew it. Lucie would have got better and better in time, I know her track was crap, but her performance was 10 times better than 2 twerps that cannot sing.

And how on earth did Lloyd get another free pass into next week, his performance was dull and tepid as cold water.

RANT OVER :heehee:

I kinda admire John and Edward

Other acts are sensitive or go to pieces or lose all their confidence at the hint of the slightest bit of criticism these 2 don't let a thing get to them and don't give a damn about the audience booing or judges criticism or media flak and I admire that, they are probably the mentally toughest act ever on X Factor

While I want them to win because the series this year is a farce and to put one over on Cowell I got a grudging admiration of them

Yeah I saw that and was like "wtf  ", did herself and Lucie no favours there

Lucie's sing off performance was impressive, she is technically the best vocalist of this series but Dannii was waaaaaaaay OTT :manson:

I think what Simon did last night should show without a shadow of a doubt that this isn't a talent contest, it's all about the ratings and the money for Simon.....and then if someone like Leona comes along well then it's a bonus.

I can see now how the likes of Leon Jackson won the competition, it didn't really matter as long as Simon got his share.

Probably the most annoying thing though is that we can be angry and upset until we're blue in the face and we can call X factor a farce....and we can say that Simon is this and he's that.....but it won't change anything he'll still be there to ruin everything.

I really liked X Factor and I still do (kinda) but I hate what Simon is turning it into....a complete random circus with little bearing on actual talent. You just need to look at the odds to see that X factor is becoming a russian roulette.

I agree with you. I watched X-Tra Factor after the show last night, and one of them couldn't speak properly coz he was welling up a bit when Holly asked them something about whether they think the press will turn on them again or something. I really felt sorry for them. But they manage to overcome it week-in and week-out. If you don't like them, don't vote. It's not their fault Louis put them through to the final rounds and the public have been keeping them in all the time.

Anyway, I'm just annoyed (but not shocked) that Lloyd wasn't in the bottom 2! :puke:

Well its true

She sang a teen movie song, a song that probably no one over 15 has in their Itunes collection, the teens are already voting big time for Jedward, especially Lloyd and also Joe so she was entering a market where the vote would be heavily split

She got a lot of older votes last week because she did a GNR song amazingly, she got a lot of older votes wth My Funny Valentine so what was the sense of Danni throwing her into the teenage lions den ? it cost her a lot of votes as she was only going to get votes off Lloyd/Jedward/Joe fans and underestimated the loyalty to those by the teens

Maybe it was a slightly bad idea judging on the outcome - to choose such song for Lucie - i think Dannii did a great job by presenting her girls at different sides, unlike Simon with his ever-rocky Jamie and ever-shouty Danyl. :/

She was only sticking by her act supporting her. All the judges do it to their acts when they sing in the bottom 2. Simon claps everyone almost .

I'm not too bothered with Lucie going although i thought she was good enough for the first time on Saturday. She also is much more better vocally than J & E but i suppose they don't want to lose their entertainment . The only thing i don't understand is the fact that Simon keeps saying that the twins luck will finally run out and all that and when he came down to choose, he didn't send them home. I'm not sure but i'm thinking Simon secretly is starting to like them. Surely he doesn't hate them as much as he makes out to be.

This show has become such a joke I want Jedward to win.
I think tat the record contract is just a decoy to make people think it's a singing contest

The judge's definitely knew the order of public vote when making their decisions. Louis stuck by his act, I can understand that. Dannii stuck by hers, which was the right choice. Cheryl Cole, the most inexperienced judge, not only as a judge but as a music expert too, chose the right person and based it on what she saw. Simon chose to make more money. I could tell they all knew Lucie received fewest votes. Dannii did the big 'I wanna thank everyone for supporting her' speech before Lucie even performed. She knew what Simon was going to do. Simon wouldn't have risked public vote unless he was sure Jedward were safe. Poor Lucie and even poor Jedward having to perform again for now reason.

I think its funny how Simon and Louis have had years of experience, and yet Dannii and Cheryl seem to be able to spot talent better.

I wouldn't say that at all (well, maybe Louis). Simon is both looking out for his own acts, and ensuring a high amount of viewers for next week, both by keeping Jedward/causing controversy. I can imagine there's a hell of a lot more people (including people that wouldn't normally like x-factor) who would tune into a Jedward performance than a Lucy one.

Did he do the right thing for the competition? no. Did he make the right decision from a business point of view? Absolutely.

According to several people on DS, next week is

Queen Week
