I wish it would start plummeting now so we could beat the record fall from #1 (1-20 by both McFly [bCB/T] and on of the '05 Elvis re-releases) but it won't. I predict a fall to 4-6 next week.

Yeh it'll have a boost after Sundays show when they talk about making the Song/Video and having a #1 (if it does ) in the chart.

It's not gonna happen, but I'd love it if X Factor have recorded a huge VT about the finalists being No1, and then find out Peter Kay had outsold them in a day. :heehee:

Something that I found amusing is that the current world singles chart #1 is 'My Girl' by Arashi.

It outsold Meet Me Halfway by 31.1% worldwide based on JAPANESE SALES ONLY. Also, IGF is still #3. Global sales must be pretty down atm...

It's more that the Japanese market is HUGE. They have some great acts but Arashi is not one of them, instead they're one of the several hundred gay-looking boy bands that they have a thing for...

I would expect Arashi to fall to around low 20s next week worldwide, the Japanese market mostly seems to be one week of massive sales then everyone has it and is satisfied.

So we're looking at a Top 10 entry for Peter Kay tomorrow? No.1 next week then.

No way unless the sales really pick up now.

Did anyone else notice that the comic relief video is outselling the song by over 3 to 1 :o

Why is that a suprise? Who would want the song without the video?

I really, really hope Snow Patrol and STFTTTB has managed to at least scrape into the Top 40 tomorrow especially with both versions doing decently!

Peter Kay et al not climbing NEARLY as fast as I thought they would! :o

Hopefully this means Rihanna has a bigger chance of #1...

Oh dear, Peter Kay is pretty far away from #10. :(

BEPs look like they might overtake Jason soon..

Ah well. It was nice seeing Jason at number 1 whilst it lasted! :(

Surely the reason it's "only" number 11 is because its main appeal is the video, with the video I think it's brilliant, without I've no idea why anyone would want it. It's why the bundle went to the top of the album chart within one hour, and why it was said earlier today that the video is selling three times as many as the song...

Oh I see your point. I haven't actually heard the song or seen the video, so I'm not really aware of the situation.

Do video sales count (if at all) as much as download sales for the official chart? If not, does anyone know the difference?
