Posted November 26, 200915 yr Simon Cowell 'picks winner's song for Joe' Thu Nov 26 10:05AM by TV Editor Simon Cowell has reportedly picked a track already performed by finalist Joe McElderry as this year's winner's song. The X Factor judge is said to have chosen Journey's 1981 hit Don't Stop Believin' as the winning act's single - a song which Joe performed during Rock Week. His decision has led to speculation that he believes the 18-year-old will triumph in the final, reports The Sun. The second choice for the winner's song is The Climb from the Hannah Montana movie, which is being considered if it looks like Stacey Solomon may beat Joe in the final. A source told the paper: "It is getting to the crucial stages now and Simon and the producers are very confident that Joe could be the winner. He made a great fist of Don't Stop Believin' and that has helped. "It's always a difficult call choosing the song, especially as there are some very different talents in the final line-up." They added: "Danyl and Olly really think they can win. They will be shocked to learn the winner's song is one Joe has already performed. http://uk.tv.yahoo.com/blog/article/365276/ Edited November 26, 200915 yr by Justin

November 26, 200915 yr The same old rumours coming up every year... Wasn't it said last year the the winner's song was chosen for Diana?
November 26, 200915 yr Oh god I hope they don't release The Climb, Miley's version is amazing but didn't get the attention it deserves yet it'll suddenly sell a million copies and be heaped with loads of praise just because it's related to the X Factor. It's so annoying! And why can't they get a brand new song for them to sing, the show has such a high profile they could probably get just about any songwriter to write them a hit.

November 26, 200915 yr Simon knows people will buy the original as well, which now he will get some money from for buying the rights. Therefore we'll probably end up with a DSB Xmas No. 1 and 2 - and Simon will LOVE it. From now on, it will always be an anthemic cover which will sell both versions, similar to Hallelujah and DSB.

Yeah i agree, they should release an original song, maybe even a christmas song!!
November 26, 200915 yr I'd rather have Joe with Don't Stop Believin' than the mind numbing drivel that is the The Climb... :manson:
November 26, 200915 yr Much as I like Joe and he sang "Don't Stop Believin" ok on x-factor, Steve Perry's vocal is so awesome on that track, "Faithfully" is one of my favourite songs as well. Another easy pick for Cowell from the Sony music library then.
November 26, 200915 yr The Climb is an amazing Song! But, Joe to Win B). Edited November 26, 200915 yr by Jamieed
November 26, 200915 yr  I love that song. I knew it'd be the winner's song. But it's a bit upbeat surely?
November 26, 200915 yr Don't Stop Believin' >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The Climb Joe to win please
November 26, 200915 yr This is already posted in X Factor forum, it shouldn't be in here, should it?
November 26, 200915 yr Why a cover again? Wasn't That's My Goal a new song? Evergreen and A Moment Like This were at least covers of songs that weren't already big in the UK. However I do like the song and also that its different to previous songs (unless they make it completelt the same/westlifey)
November 26, 200915 yr I want Joe to win out of the final 5, and he did a great performance of "Don't Stop Believin'"... ...but I love Miley Cyrus and "The Climb", so I may switch to supporting Stacey Edited November 26, 200915 yr by bigzarafan
November 26, 200915 yr It's a utter disgrace the way they keep churning out cover versions, American Idol ALWAYS gives their winners an ORIGINAL track, but no not X-Factor, apart from That's My Goal, every single one of them has been covers.
