i know lots of people who are aged 12-20 that don't behave like hooligans. Me being one myself. The fact that you think most people in that age range are yobbish is hilarious.

Fuck yeah :w00t: Love Scott
Scott is my favourite R1 DJ :D So glad it isn't Reggie, getting tired of him.. -_-

Great! Scott Mills is SO much better than Reggie and he acts his age

Yes he's started to act 12 now instead of 7.

Have to admit the Big Top 40, while not the official chart, the presentation is very good.

I listed to Scott Mills last weekend, and he was okay.

I don't mind him but think his show is just rubbish on weekdays.

Not sure if he writes it or it's his creative team that suck.

Rabbito One?

So called because of all the chattering that Reggie does!

At least we may get more of the chart played and less chat.

Yesterday, Reggie missed out every song from 28-22, I still dont know why!

makes me laugh when on saturday they had a chat and request show, and do the same stuff all through the charts.

its a chart show, not CHAT show, fair play celebrate No.1 with an interview but not yapper yabber yabber through the charts thats why the charts are 3 hrs long to get every track in.

if a NOW compilation can fit more in in 2 and a half hours with no chat whatsoever, surely it is possible

Absolutely Pete. I doubt Mills/Or whoever will play any more than Yates. Unfortunately the programme is aimed at a bunch of kids, whom Radio One seem to highly regard it a good thing, to let them get high mobile phone costs, by texting constantly. The annoying thing is over on The BigTop40, they don`t play artists not on their playlists, but play the top ten twice and still manage to play about 45 songs! Radio One could be playing the Top 50 in those 3 hours, and they have no excuse...just a bunch of out of touch producers/crap presenters with a mental age of 12. One week, Yates spoke of going into a shop and sneezing and snot going on the counter. Do people (even kids) want to hear that on the air? Surely the teenagers have less juvenile chat than that themselves. It`s quite ridiculous.

I was listening to an old Mark Goodier Top 40 the other day, it's amazing how professional it sounds (even the intros to songs) compared with the current chart.

I've given up hoping for an overhaul now, and have lost a lot of interest in the Top 40 recently anyway. :(

Thats nothing, I remember when he and Fearne took half an hour of the show discussing things people have had stuck up their noses.

And one text a few weeks ago read 'Please make JLS no.1, they deserve it cos they're fit'. I assume most listeners don't know what the chart is about.

100% agreed on this.

Maybe it is time for Radio 1 to hand over the chart to Radio 2. The chart needs a professionally

run countdown with info and facts & figures not 'how big is your penis' jokes.

Radio Times says that Nihal will be counting down the biggest albums of the noughties on Monday 27th, and then the top 100 singles from Tuesday.

I agree actually, it was rather a stereotypical comment to make. There's only a small minority

of young folks who behave like hooligans, they're plenty of decent young people around.

Spot on there. I think have the short phone interviews with artists who have new entrys or at No.1 is good,

but a lot of the constant chitter chatter is usually nonsense.

I've suggested before that perhaps they should do both. A Radio 2 show with a proper presenter where they play the whole of the top 40 and a Radio 1 show in the current dumbed down format. As long as listeners to Radio 1 are made aware of the alternative, it would be interesting to see how that worked out.
