It's not HUGE margin. Joe will catch up with RATM by Thursday.

Miley is doing well. two songs re entering the top 40.

Gosh and those children here don't understand the purpose of it...

People are fed up with karaoke act to have a #1 at Xmas.

The reason why RATM was chosen is:

Rage Against The Machine (The Machine = Simon Cowell)

Killing in the Name (Killing in the name of Xmas number 1)

That's the purpose... that's it. Whether you like the song or not... it's simply to say WE DON'T WANT XFACTOR WINNER TO HAVE XMAS NUMBER EVERY YEAR.

I'm not a fan of RATM myself... but I don't want The Climb to be number 1 this week.

Are the XMas charts what you live for?

Don't get me wrong I'm all for protests (if it's for a good thing) but a CHART protest? Like seriously what the actual f***??!!?!

If you think this campaign will make people NOT buy Joe's single - you're as dumb as wood. It's just causing the 'battle', without this battle Joe would still have sold as many copies as with it. S-I-L-L-Y.

But would it not be better for a Christmas song to be Christmas #1?

Everytime i get involved in these major fights for #1 i always lose out.

Britnwy vs Basshunter 2008... I bought the Britney single because i didn't want Basshunter #1...then my sister buys the Basshunter one. :(

I just purchased the Rage Against The Machine track...i hope i haven't ruined it's chances.

Is 'The Climb' a Christmas song? I don't think so.

Pavel - you're a 20 year old lad - what do you know about music? I'm sure your music journey started after 2000s.

Happy with the midweeks!

Joe will easily get the number 1 spot, with one day sales he did close to RATM and their massive campaign, go Joe! :cheer:

Happy for Cheryl and 30H!3 aswell :cheer:

That's not what I was saying. Did I say I wanted The Climb to #1.

i'm not one for quoting myself but i'm going to

This RATM thing is just as bad as X Factor if not worse. People should buy music because that is the music that they like, not because they want to stop another song from getting to #1. It's not like this campaign is going to stop Joe selling what he was going to sell if the campaign wasn't around but he is probably going to sell more tahn he would have because of the competition and the added interest that comes with it.

And trying to stop X-Factors monopoly on the Xmas #1 with a song that is in no way Chrismassy defeats the object of trying to save the Xmas #1. Hopefully next year people will be smart and choose a Christmas song although i'd prefer it if X-Factor did a cover of an xmas song at least.

Also Simon Cowell isn't going to care about what number The Climb peaks as he is doing it for the money not chart records. In fact he is probably happy this RATM thing is going so well but to help the RATM campaign do better he has to act out against it.

Too add to that I would prefer The Climb to be #1 over RATM as it is more Chrismassy than RATM. But I would prefer an original Xmas song to be #1.

Does his age really need to come into it. I'm 18 and my musical knowledge extends to way before my date of birth. And even if it didn't does that make mine or Pavel's opinion less important? NO.

Did I say a word about being a music expert here? I doubt it.

I was (and am) just saying that such campaigns 'against' something are not good in my opinion.

But isn't it boring ever Xmas to have another XF number 1?

It is the same every year. Are you proud of Leon's When You Believe? I'm not.

Is RATM going to be disqualified by the OCC?

Why do you think that?

and can it?

I don't really want to close this topic, but if I have to I will, so stop at having a pot at each other.

No its perfectly acceptable to chart on its own merit.

Sorry for the lack of my knowledge in this field, but is there a possibility of some song to be disqualified??! :o

People are so sad, bitter and pathetic tbh.

Its christmas who gives a flying S*** who's number1 GET OVER IT!

The older you are, the more knowledgeable you are... The older you are, the better taste of music etc... Children these days listen to JLS, Miley and Joe. Adults tend to have a better taste in music.
