Well, now that the trick has been revealed, I expect the Joe fans to take advantage of this and do the exact same thing

How can you be a fan of a substandard karioke singer. Who is singing disney tripe. Over one of the best rocks songs ever?

You are so tragic!

still trying to get GaGa to xmas #2! :P

Haha yes. But I'm kinda hoping 3!OH3 overtake her now because I won't feel so annoyed if she's number 4!!

she's gone back to #3 on iTunes now so it seems unlikely that 3OH!3 will overtake her in the officials...

4 versions of Killing In The Name in the iTunes top 300 now :o live version surging up to #49!!!

broken bot x factor is over now, satcey came 3rd.

lol :P

Wow imagine if Joe doesnt get xmas #1, what a shock to the nation that will be!

IF - and it's probably a fairly big if - they succeed in having one final blitz tomorrow, it could still happen. Even if RATM end up at number two it will still have been far more successful than any previous campaign and it's been great fun. Now, who's starting the campaign for the Pogues next year? Don't forget, today is the ninth anniversary of Kirsty MacColl's death so next year's tenth anniversary would be an ideal time to get the best Christmas song ever to number one.

Now THIS is a campaign that I would fully support, it would be wonderful to see Kirsty at #1 for Christmas.

I don't mind if Joe ends up being #1 tomorrow. I'd prefer to see RATM there but I'm more than happy enough just to see a real battle for #1 this year, if Joe sells more in the end then he deserves it.

^^ True. It has kept everyone in waiting and has shown the true colours of many... Joe wasn't such a 'nicey-nice' guy when he slagged off RATM, was he?? Simon Cowell's vain nature was amplified...

Would LOVE to see Kirsty at Number 1 next year. Favourite Christmas song OF ALL TIME :D

Fairytale Of New York has sold too many copies to be an affective challenger.

But if there is one Kirsty song to be used in this way then this self penned poignant (and sadly prophetic) track is surely it, as it has a great melancholic Xmassy feel to it.

Kirsty MacColl - Soho Square

“One day you’ll be waiting there, no empty bench in Soho Square

And we’ll dance around like we don’t care

And I’ll be much too old to cry

And you’ll kiss me quick in case I die before my birthday”

So sang Kirsty MacColl in her song Soho Square, so it only seems right that there is now a bench in that same square which has those words written on it in memorial to Kirsty which I have sat on eating a sandwich.

Soho Square is my favourite Kirsty track anyway so I'd happily see that being used. The breakdown before the end is glorious.

We better start our campaign for 2010 then quickly! :w00t:

add up all versions and Rage are outselling Joe by about 4:1 on iTunes...

other sites it's hard to tell, or even how much of an impact they have in comparison to iTunes

it's all down to the CD single sales now - if Joe can shift 100k CD's today he's done it, if he only shifts 60k it's going right down to the wire

As long as OCC don't change their mind regarding Nokia free downloads, Rage could still beat Joe even if he does have 100k+ physicals.
