Posted December 22, 200915 yr Scott was so good presenting the chart on sunday, its such a shame we still have Reggie requested a poll to see who you actually enjoyed listening to, for me it was JK and Joel as they presented when I first listened and genuinely got on with the chart and didn't act silly (unlike a certain someone who presents it now), and more of the chart was played Scott Mills has stood in so many times, I have counted him
December 22, 200915 yr JK and Joel didn't act silly? Riiiight... Anyway, although I'm in the minority, I actually love(d) Fearne and Reggie!
December 22, 200915 yr I want to hear the 40 biggest selling songs of the week; not the voice of the presenter rambling, or who Alice, aged 13, from Dorset, thinks is going to be No1.
December 22, 200915 yr I remember Bruno Brookes, he was great, and of the current crop i would like to see Scott do it every week.
December 22, 200915 yr I always enjoyed it when Mark Goodier was the host. I liked Mark Goodier and Scott's good as well. To be honest, i don't really mind Reggie and Fearne, Reggie on his own is boring though. I would prefer Scott full time
December 22, 200915 yr Mark Goodier was who did it when I started learning at 10 - I loved him, was so sad when he left, Wes who replaced him was a funny one, I liked him but is that because I was younger. Hated JK and Joel, and still hate Reggie. I liked Fearne, but the chart show wasn't for her, happy she's a presenter on a different show. Scott is incredible and if he presented it - I would say he could possibly be the best, but I don't know if I'm just happy when he's there because it means none of the crap we normally get from the more recent hosts, the show should be his - I'm SO happy he did it this Sunday.
December 22, 200915 yr Scott Mills is streets ahead of all the other recent presenters. He's the only one who treats it as a chart show rather than a "Listen to me, I'm a big star" show.
December 22, 200915 yr Bruno was THE MAN though Mark probably had the best balance between just doing the chart and injecting a small amount of personality into it. I can't stand Reggie. It isn't just that he misses so many songs out, he's just incredibly irritating. Scott is so much better.
December 22, 200915 yr From memory I remember it since Simon Bates first run very late 1970s; then I remember Tony Blackburn; Tommy Vance; Richard Skinner going well into the 1980s (during that time Simon Bates; Peter Powell or Kid Jenson filled in as holiday reserve); then you had Bruno Brookes who took over during the great decline in pop music in the later part of the 1980s; but my favourite was Mark Goodier before Bruno Brookes took over the gig again (and was much better second time around); before being replaced by Mark Goodier again to the early part of this decade. Since then the formula has been wrecked and it has been car crash radio and painful to listen to from a non musical point of view; with entertainment & gossip replacing content being presented by DJs who had little knowledge or more importantly did not care about the charts or the songs they were playing. The only DJ who has cut the mustard has been when Scott Mills has stood in (I guess that is his national lottery presenting coming in handy).
December 22, 200915 yr They were all good up to Wes. He was a decent enough presnter - just a pity about the $h!tty format he was forced to use....
December 22, 200915 yr Bruno Brookes was the chart show host when i started listening in 86, so i'd put him as my fav closely followed by Mark Goodier. Having had the chance to listen to earlier chart shows, Tommy Vance wasn't too bad either he always showed an enthusiam for the chart and gave interesting facts out about the record. December 22, 200915 yr I liked Mark Goodier and Scott's good as well. To be honest, i don't really mind Reggie and Fearne, Reggie on his own is boring though. I would prefer Scott full time I agree Scott was way more listenable and easier on the ear than Reggie. If Scott ever moves to weekends, maybe he'll do a swap with Reggie. They seem to be slowly moving the djs who've been around a while to weekends so it may happen.
December 22, 200915 yr Mark Goodier. He was the one I had growing up so I always associate him with the chart.
December 22, 200915 yr Bruno Brookes is my favourite, Mark Goodier is another favourite of mine Also Peter Powell when he did it Tuesday evenings.
December 22, 200915 yr Mark Goodier. I always used to tape the chart onto cassette so I could listen to the songs again, hehe.
December 22, 200915 yr I hate Reggie - he is really rubbish. On several occasions, he mispronounced "La Isla Bonita" when they did the recap of all Madonna's #1s.
