Sorry to burst the bubble, but The Saturdays need to sell some albums, and fast. If 'Ego' were to reach #1, and the album didn't get any boost at all - The Saturdays wouldn't suddenly be OK. 'Ego' needs to go Top 10, and get the album back in the Top 75 or Top 50. The peak of the third single is basically irrelevant, but it needs to push the album back into the Top 40 and take it Gold at the very least. If this doesn't happen, they will either be dropped, or the budget for the next album will be slashed and they will become even more about singles than they already are.

 

At least if they were dropped, Vanessa could fulfil her potential... not sure what Mollie could do, though :kink:

I wouldn't call her lead huge to what we've seen of recent times but it would be great for her to own the Single and Album Chart this Sunday at the start of 2010 :D.

'Broken Heels' not getting Top 10 is so annoying. :(

I'd love Lungs to finally make #1, it would make up for it being robbed of a 5 week run last year.

Maybe Lungs could be 2010's Only By The Night, returning to (or in this case, making) #1 in the second week of the year after its release due to very poor sales? Though I expect GaGa will hold the #1 next week.

 

And yes, I'm considering this week to be the 1st week of 2010, deal wit it.

The chart is looking awful lately. That awful Justin Bib doing well, and Florence + The Machine's massacre of a truly great song look to do be doing well. Agh.

 

I agree with you Gary. Recently it's been quite crap with so much trashy songs getting so much hype. N Dubz, Chipmunk and all of this $h!t dance music and alot of RNB music cramming up the chart is sickening. Where's the good music gone. Some of the stuff in there is decent but most of it is $h!t. Sorry it is. Anyway enough of that One Republic seem to be flopping :(. Great comeback but not doing much impact.
