Precocious R&B vocalist/pianist Alicia Keys was hand-picked by Clive Davis as one of the flagship artists for his post-Arista label, J Records. No doubt he was as impressed by her multitude of skills (Keys took a large role in the writing, arranging, and production of her debut album) as by her music, which mates contemporary hip-hop accoutrements to an old-school soul sensibility a la Jill Scott or D'Angelo. Only 20 years old at the time of the album's release, Keys already seemed poised for a major career built upon her soulful voice and classically trained piano chops. While hip-hop played a much bigger role on her second effort, 2003's THE DIARY OF ALICIA KEYS, it was a smash nonetheless, and subsequent recordings have further pushed the boundaries of R&B - HMV

He doesn't need to skip ANY tracks though! If he cut out all that shyte about Michael Buble, reading out pointless texts etc; he could easily play all 40

True but the show wouldn't be appealing to general public without a presenter's comments, jokes etc.

The show is not only for chart geeks. ;)

What exactly do you like atm?

Yet you like Glee? Sorry, I just find that strange.

Well if you like the dullest rock band on the planet who make Coldplay seem as adventourous as Animal Collective, then good luck to you.

But I personally hate dull muzak, whether it is recorded by Westlife, Nickleback, OneRepublic or the ever changing Simon Cowell cash cow to be dropped into obscurity two years later.

As for Glee ..... they are Broadway stars (so they have a decent pair of lungs on them) and make superior cover versions to anything a Simon Cowell act has ever managed.

I love Alicia's version of this! It's much better than the original.

Alicia''s version is the original, Jay Z cover it

Timbo will climb again next week just because it'll continue the chart pattern of MAD.

What exactly do you like atm?

Good question, most of what's around at the moment is pretty horrific... such as this 'Morning After Dark' song I wish would go away.

As for Glee ..... they are Broadway stars (so they have a decent pair of lungs on them) and make superior cover versions to anything a Simon Cowell act has ever managed.

Well that goes without saying...

One Republic aren't dull though, don't know why you think they are. And Nickelback?? Dull?? Nope.

Hi guys,

Sorry I miss the chart this week, I have a bad hungover. Ican't even see the screen clearly
