Also being a rubbish gay, I find Erasure's cover of Take A Chance On Me more enjoyable than Abba's. And whilst I do have an appreciation for the original, I'm also more inclined to take Annie Lennox's A Whiter Shade Of Pale over Procol Harum :(

I wouldn't go AS far as to say Placebo's Running Up That Hill is better than Kate Bush's, but I could happily put them on a par.

Definetly agree with Leona's version of 'Run', it gives me shivers. So emotional and it was released at the time of my grandad's death so it will always hold some sentimental value. I think it's the best thing she's done too, I now prefer it to 'Bleeding Love' even.

Still it can't be all down to blind looning because I thought that their cover of The Winner Takes It All was completely average, lacked all of the emotion of the original and the production was dull as dishwater.

Oh I'm with you there, my Corrs looning stops there. I actually wouldn't hesitate to name the The Winner Takes It All to be one of the WORST covers I've ever heard. If they did I didn't hear it. It definitely sounded like an Andrea solo track. I was gutted that they lowered themselves to ABBA Mania, there was no need, it's not like they needed any extra exposure back in 1999!...they didn't really fit with Steps, Cleopatra and Tina Cousins :lol:

I shamefully own that 'ABBA Mania' on CD! HAHA. One of the first ever albums I recieved :lol: I was absoloutely, madly in love with Steps' version of 'Lay All Your Love On Me' :blush:. Didn't like any of the other covers much though :lol:
