ok, finally listening and i think quality was in SF2 tbh

Voted. Very very good final.

I rated more than half of the songs 6.5 or higher.

And I guess this is the first time that I actually fulfilled my reputation as "indie voter".

I will vote after lunch, after a third and final run through.

Am I the only one who thinks this contest might be remembered for me making the school boy error of entering my favourite song (Robyn - Fembots) rather than a song that would guarantee a better finish as it is far more commercial (Kelis - Acapella); and Utopia (sending the wrong Groove Armada track - they ought to have sent History (featuring Will Young)) instead?

In that case i've made about 25 school boy errors :drama:

Haha same! If I was that desperate to win I'd be sending the latest high profile leaks every month but what's the point - if you're not sending your favourite song why should anyone else be expected to like it over the competition? I can honestly say I've always sent my current favourite eligible song to BJSC (i.e. not a UK release/cheap song/ESC entry).

THIS.

Sure i've sent some cheaper stuff, but i only send something i adore to bits. I've never sent something with the aim of winning, right now qualifying to the final would do quite nicely

I think the true schoolboy error is sending something with the aim of winning, because it almost always backfires - although I'd be interested to hear if anyone has ever sent a song aiming to win and actually won with it :o Like I say, the one and only time I did this was with Headhunted (although I did adore it too and it was my favourite song at the time) and it flopped hard. I'm not foolish enough to think that Caro Emerald ever stood or indeed stands any chance to win but it's really not the aim of the game - it's my favourite song right now (well apart from the German ESC entry ) so hence it becomes my entry! I guess I *thought* that Robots In Love had winning potential, but it certainly wasn't the primary reason for me sending it.

Exactly, Turn The Lights On is currently my favourite track, i just can't get enough of it. Even with it's DNQ. Although i now actively search for my BJSC entries i'll only send something that is instantly amazing for me, or something that after a couple of listens won't leave my mind and i just have to listen to it more.

Well the two tracks I was deciding between for BJSC XXV are my Top 2 songs in my Personal Chart at the moment.

All I was saying is that if I'd had gone with my 2nd favourite song at the moment, I think right now there would have been a very serious possibility of Kelis winning - especially due to the momentum and airplay it is receiving right now and the stunning video.

Whilst the Robyn track clearly stands no chance as it is too uncommercial as it will surely be the Konichiwa Bitches (the pre review track from the eponymous Robyn album - which was my favourite track on that album bar With Every Heartbeat, even though it was clearly one of the least commercial tracks) of this album.

You did the right thing by sending your favourite of the moment. You shouldn't feel too bad about it. Especially as Kelis' song is $h!t :heehee: imo

I'm surprisingly loving Acapella actually, which is a shock as Lil' Star aside I usually can't abide Kelis. There are a lot of people that have already vocally said they dislike it though (who participate here) so I'm not sure it's the surefire winner you think it would be :o Fembot is just as good though for me. Has got me really looking forward to the album, even though I was already obviously. Konichiwa Bitches was one of my favourites too, absolutely loved the video

I kinda like good times........but the rapping ruins it for me :/

If you're asking me this is the only good part in the song :kink:

Surely Silly Boy?

I did send Quicksand with the aim of winning, but it was also my favourite song of those two months so I consider it justified...
