Also, can i just say that the cover for Alex B.'s All Night Long does nothing to get rid of the ' 2nd rate English Beyonce' comparisons :/ Which is a shame really because when she won X Factor, I was really excited for her career but now im like meh :(

Alexandra's music is very different to Beyonce's though. Overcome - bar a few songs like NBTG, YBMH, BM, GNGM and ANL - is pure pop while Beyonce's music is Pop/R&B/Hip-Hop. But yeah people have said she's the British Beyonce. Don't know how she's 2nd rate though? :wacko:

 

I can kinda empathise with you on your last comment. I had really high hopes for her debut album - expecting material like Umbrella, Crazy In Love, Disturbia - but Overcome in general is quite a let down. But that might just be because i had such high hopes. Same with Leona's Echo era success. :(

 

I think All Night Long and The Silence are by far the best on Alex's album though. Great contemporary current songs with mass appeal.

So sad that NMT has been deleted. But the song needs more momentum.

I hope Prof Green beats Usher, I would say I hope Selena beats him, but that's totally out of the question tbh, Prof Green actually has a chance

I love Alexandra but it's crazy to disagree with that statement.

 

But then Bey is nearly 10 years older than Alex with around 15 years in the music industry. Alexandra's had barely a year. I'm sure Alex will grow as an artist when experience grows. She's only 21 so we can't expect her to be anywhere near Beyonce and Christina artistically.

I would definitely say it's still a 3-horse race - SFG are currently #1, and they have the album version helping. Pro Green is gaining on SFG on iTunes and is currently 200 copies away officially. And Usher is currently #1 on iTunes. It could go to any of them... Kelis could even get it if she gets one mroe massive boost from somewhere.

What's with all these Beyoyo & Alex things?! :wacko: I think it's unfair to compare Alex to someone like Beyonce just now, because Alex is still trying to find herself as an artist. She's only been doing this for what? This is her 2nd full year. I personally like the way Alex is going with her music, more because of the fact it's not the typical sort of stuff we hear from a reality TV contestant! And comparing her to someone like Beyonce is a bit odd tbh.

But it's still not certain he'll even get there - Rude Boy got to equal pop bars with Tinie but never overtook him, and Baby also got incredibly close without taking #1 - INYT could do the same thing. We don't know yet.
