Ahead of the release of their new Warner Bros album Immersion on May 24, Pendulum look set to score their second UK Top 10 single. The newly-released Watercolour is currently the week’s fourth top seller, while the top three is presently identical to how last Sunday’s chart finished: Relentless/Virgin’s Roll Deep with Good Times are one, LaFace/RCA’s OMG by Usher featuring will.i.am is two and 679/Atlantic’s Plan B with She Said third.

Future/Mercury’s Brazilian-born UK rap artist Aggro Santos is on course for a Top 20 entry with Candy, while John Lewis’s latest TV ad will send Polydor’s Fyfe Dangerfield into the 20 on Sunday with his cover of She’s Always A Woman. Billy Joel’s original gave Sony a Top 40 entry last Sunday.

Diana Vickers has opened up a narrow lead over Plan B and AC/DC in the albums market as she bids to follow her number one single with a chart-topping album.

Her newly-issued RCA album Songs From The Tainted Cherry Lane is around 2,700 sales ahead of 679/Atlantic’s Plan B with The Defamation Of Strickland Banks at this stage of the week, according to OCC data, with AC/DC’s Columbia-handled Iron Man 2 soundtrack a further few hundred sales behind.

As the reworked Dog Days Are Over continues to build, Island’s Florence + The Machine are likely to return to the Top 10 of the artist albums chart this coming Sunday, with week-on-week sales of Lungs up more than 50%. Sales of Def Jam/Mercury’s Justin Bieber album My World are also growing fast and could propel the album back in the Top 10.

EMI’s country act Lady Antebellum have already sold more than 2m copies of their second album Need You Now back in the States and it is now starting to make its mark in the UK. Newly-released on this side of the Atlantic, it is the 12th biggest seller at this stage of the week, while its title track is making progress in the Top 40 of the singles market.

Other new entries heading to the albums chart include releases from Reprise/Warner’s Deftones, 19/RCA’s American Idol 2009 runner-up Adam Lambert, Rough Trade’s Hold Steady, Mercury’s Hole with their first studio album in 12 years, Warp’s Flying Lotus and a Decca Mantovani retrospective.

[10] Always remember to flush after use.

I'd be quite surprised if the Deftones album was to get anywhere near the top 10 albums to be honest, they have had a top 10 album in the self titled album from 2003 but it seems quite unlikely to me that their profile has improved since then (last album was No33)

one of the best albums of the year so far as well, so I'd be surprised if it entered high due to that as well. Call me slightly cynical there if you will, but it seems to be the same with the singles chart as well

Hope Plan B remains where he was on Sunday (in both charts :D).

Interested to know where Diana's album will be. I have a feeling she'll debut at #1 or something and then plummet next week.

Haven't Cascada released Pyromania this week?

Yes, on downloads alone

OMG @ Adam Lambert #20 in albums! hope he can stay in there come Sunday! :D
Any news regarding Sophie?

Looks like the physicals for Pendulum are doing quite well, I didn't think they chart that high. Diana should remain top 5 in the singles with her album out for cherry picking.

I think Diana's album is going to trail off at the end of the week, must be frontloaded.

MW Report added.

Vickers 2,700 ahead of Plan B, think they'll overtake by the end of the week and Vickers may fall to #3 behind AC/DC who are also just behind Plan B. :(

Cascada, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Toni Braxton, Faithless, Mika and TV Rock are all gonna miss the Top 40 this week :o

Wonder why Cheryl's album is climbing when her single is falling (quite badly)?
