TWYMMF was one of the few Steps ballads I liked. There's a myth surrounding that song that it would've been #1 had it not leaked a week earlier, which is completely fake. Saleswise, even with the leaked sales, Steps were miles away from Rui Da Silva, and were actually lucky to get to #2 as Fragma - Everytime You Need Me almost beat them. Nonetheless, one of my fav top3s ever.

:o Steps and Fragma's songs were both amazing though so I didn't mind the end result. Plus, The Way You Make Me Feel wasn't really No. 1 material - at least they got 1 number from "Buzz" (Stomp)

New discovery? :o Or did I just remind you of it? :P

You just reminded me of it.

They should have released them the other way round.

In my opinion, It's The Way You Make Me Feel WAS #1 material, although I still preferred both Touch Me and Everytime You Need Me (both of which I bought that week), Stomp was a completely default #1, one of their least remembered singles and the lowest selling #1 of 2000.

I remember the "You Are Alive" video premiering on MTV Europe, and the vj saying "well if there's a blonde chick on a beach, it must be Fragma" :P Funny how they were like unstoppable at the time, and a few months later would fade away. I guess all dance acts have their honeymoon phase, only to soon be forgotten. The latest one I think was Angel City. Or maybe Basshunter, we'll see how his new one does.
I feel slightly out of the loop at the moment - haven't heard some of the songs in the chart so listening to the show today. Thank God it's Scott presenting it. A very professional first couple of minutes. It almost sounds like a chart show!

:o No, it would've really have failed badly. "Stomp" was released first due to it being the party season (Xmas, New Years etc.)

Cascada have managed to remain popular for 3 or 4 years. Although maybe they won't have another hit judging by Pyromania's flop - depends if radio decide to ever support them again...

I thought ITWYMMF outsold Stomp, even though the album was already out at this point, so I definitely think it would have gone to #1 had it been released first :o Stomp disappeared pretty quickly and only sold 50k on its week of release which was dire for a #1 in 2000. It was alright but compared to some of their classics that stalled at #2, it's a shame that it was *that* that was one of their two #1's.
