July 3, 201014 yr Watching the highlights from Argentina vs Germany again, I really do think that this could well be the start of one of history's great teams. They're all so young and yet they're so good despite that youth. Boateng, Muller and Ozil are all eligible to play for U21s. Khedira is only 23. Even their experience players are still young. Podolski, Schweinsteiger and Lahm have 226 international appearences between them. They're still only 25, 25 and 26. Only Klose and Friedrich won't be at the next World Cup, and they have the quality to replace them. I like Badstuber of Bayern Munich, he'll develop into a better left back and Boateng can go in the centre. I like Marin and Kroos too. Right from the start of the tournament Germany have looked like a team who could be frighteningly good in the next few years. Brazil were always going to be the favourites for the next World Cup but the hosts might have a real rival in Germany.
July 3, 201014 yr AMAZING STUFF. I cannot tell you the overwhelming pleasure I got watching Argentina get hammered in a Cuban bar full of Argentinians <3
July 4, 201014 yr I like Marin and Kroos too. I hope Löw lets Marin play for Müller against Spain. But it will probably be Trochowski. Who can be good at times but has a lot of off days. :/ Müller is a BIG loss, though. Although I can't say I'm too worried if both teams play like they did yesterday.
July 4, 201014 yr Semi Finals Uruguay 0:2 Netherlands Germany 2:1 Spain Play Off Uruguay 1:4 Spain Final Netherlands 1p:1 Germany

I'd say Germany are frighteningly good now!! 4-1 and 4-0 straight wins is a great achievement and they could win THIS World Cup, never mind 2014. Edited July 4, 201014 yr by Common Sense
July 4, 201014 yr Semi Finals Uruguay 0:2 Netherlands Germany 2:1 Spain Play Off Uruguay 1:4 Spain Final Netherlands 1p:1 Germany Netherlands beating Germany on penalties? Really? If it goes to pens in the final then the Dutch have no chance.

I agree, although Spain are still looking rather ominous. In terms of 2014, Germany and Brazil are almost certain to start as favourites. Spain will still be very strong, as will Argentina, Italy and France need to go through massive renovations although I think Italy in particular probably just about have the strength in depth to do it in time. England will be in transition, we're far more likely to win it in 2018 even if we don't host the thing.

July 4, 201014 yr one slip... Do you really think all five Dutch takers will score? Thery're awful in shootouts, only Spain and possibly England are worse. Oh, how convenient, look who Germany's semi-final opponent is...
July 4, 201014 yr The chances of the Germans losing a penalty shoot out are very low. The chances of the Dutch winning one are equally low. For it to happen against each other? Incredible.
July 4, 201014 yr I put a whole £1 (each way) on Germany at the start of the WC. How much money will I get if they win? Could I take early retirement with my winnings do you think?

July 4, 201014 yr Klose did miss their first penalty in a World Cup in over 30 years :kink: I hope the Netherlands stuff Uruguay, as Suarez does not deserve to play in the final. I have to say I can't see beyond Germany at the moment, but then again this has been one weird beast of a World Cup.

July 5, 201014 yr Klose did miss their first penalty in a World Cup in over 30 years :kink: Podolski. ;)
July 5, 201014 yr People who used to watch Setanta Sports may remember Special 1 TV which was a hilarious show that took the p*** out the latest football news. BBC made the great devision to take it on and it's been back for the World Cup on BBC Three. Personally I think this has been the best episode so far even if Puppet Ronnie (the best character) doesn't make an appearance. T_rJyi5R5C8 Leave your comments to get it commissioned for the Premier League season! This is too good for it to go away again.
July 6, 201014 yr Holland deservedly going through! :cheer: Two brilliant goals by that team with 1 good goal from Uruguay. The other two goals were meh. The first Netherlands goal was cracking. The third was just as good! Holland FTW!
July 6, 201014 yr Best team won on the night, it was a very entertaining match to watch, I just knew Hoalland would walk it. Nothing much more to add, looking forward to Germany vs. Spain tomorrow.
July 6, 201014 yr Van BRonckhorst's goal was a thing of beauty.....well-struck from anout 35-40 yards out.....and Robben's header was also a sight to see.....on another website, I predicted a Dutch 3-1 win.....missed my prediction by that >.< much....
