June 26, 201015 yr Its one of those songs that dont sound great when you first hear it and then after a few listens you love it. Its a grower
June 26, 201015 yr Certainly better with a full listen. But not a no 1 I imagine, shame really as I hoped they would have learnt that leading with a ballad is a bad move after last year. Top 5.
June 26, 201015 yr Heh, if the Saturdays miss out on #1 to Flo Rida again that'd be pretty humorous. I think 'Power' will be really big unless R1 don't playlist it for some reasonYeah 'Power' will be big (It's Kanye). But just because it doesn't hit number 1, doesn't mean it won't be "big" :P
June 26, 201015 yr Top 10 seeing it's The Saturdays. Though I'm actually not too sure of this new song. Maybe I was expecting something more upbeat than this. And some people.
June 26, 201015 yr Certainly better with a full listen. But not a no 1 I imagine, shame really as I hoped they would have learnt that leading with a ballad is a bad move after last year. Top 5. Forever Is Over isn't a ballad. Some people have real trouble defining a song. :kink:
June 26, 201015 yr I predict top 5- top 10, definately not number 1 The songs OK- shame to see that they have to use autotune now- and again, its nothing we havent heard before
June 26, 201015 yr They seem to be pushing to try for #1 with it, but due to the competition I'll say #3.
June 26, 201015 yr Heh, if the Saturdays miss out on #1 to Flo Rida again that'd be pretty humorous. I think 'Power' will be really big unless R1 don't playlist it for some reason Yeah, it'd be mildly funny if it happened, although I like both songs about equally, so I'd probably prefer the Sats to win, just because they've never got #1 before. However, whatever happens, I doubt it could be worse than the Oopsy Daisy/Forever Is Over fiasco.
June 26, 201015 yr I'm beginning to doubt The Saturdays will ever have a single as brilliant as Up. This is about as awful as Forever Is Over.
June 26, 201015 yr This is about as awful as Forever Is Over. I beg to differ. This is extremely cheesy. Forever Is Over was still catchy and almost "empowering" à lá Kelly Clarkson's stuff...
June 26, 201015 yr ^It's funny you say that, because I heard Forever Is Over was actually originally for Kelly Clarkson. P!nk wanted the song too, apparently! http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/showbiz/showb...86908-21751336/ Having released singles such as Up, Work and Issues, their previous chart best was No.2 with the Comic Relief cover version of Depeche Mode's classic Just Can't Get Enough, which was beaten to No.1 by Flo Rida's Right Round. This time, it's Chipmunk's Oopsy Daisy that has thwarted their bid. "We're excited to get the song so high in the charts," Vanessa said. "We love our song but we also love the Chipmunk song. We're really happy for him getting to No.1. We see him quite often and the fact that he mentions us in his song is really cool. Hopefully we'll get to collaborate someday. "We'd love a No.1. We're not going to lie and say we don't care. Maybe we will get it next time." The single - written by ex-Busted star James Bourne and songwriting partners Sam Watters and Louis Biancaniello - features on the new Saturdays album, Wordshaker, which is out this week. "We met James at the Universal offices," Vanessa explained. "As soon as we heard the song, Forever Is Over, we said we had to have it and that he had to give it to us. But there was competition for the song from Pink and Kelly Clarkson. "Other people are competing with us for the best songs so we were lucky on this album. We've had amazing songs from the start and we are really lucky to have that." I agree that I didn't like Forever is Over though. I found the song very shrill and chaotic, personally, although I think I'm in the minority, as it got very good reviews. It was kind of funny when Chipmunk beat it to number-one though, because he was all like "Can you provide vocals for my track?" and they were like "Oh no, we've got out own single that we want to promote", and then Chipmunk ended up beating them.
June 26, 201015 yr 9th Aug major releases are: B.o.B. feat Hayley Williams – Airplanes Ellie Goulding – The Writer Iyaz – So Big Ne-Yo – Beautiful Monster The Saturdays – Missing You Stromae - Alors On Danse Tbh, I can only see Ne-Yo and B.o.B. being competition, but Airplanes might get to no.1 before then, so this has a serious shot at being the girls first no.1!!!
June 26, 201015 yr Well i for one having heard it twice has liked it straightaway on first listen. I know it's not what people wanted them to do but i feel this is really summer themed in a way and i love it plus the video is great as well. Edited June 26, 201015 yr by True Blue Eyes
June 26, 201015 yr Top 5 / #1 With all the generic shiz reaching the top this year, Missing You is not going to miss it
June 26, 201015 yr Top 5. I'm pretty sure the Sats will never get a #1 - Just Can't Get Enough was their only real chance and Flo Rida pipped them. You do talk $h!t sometimes, 'Forever Is Over' would've got #01 on previous weeks and that was pretty weak. 'Ego' has sold more than that and that was already on the album, 'Up' has sold really well too - so they can sell well and are still easily capable of getting a #01. I reckon this could get to #01 tbh, especially if it gets the airplay and promotion their previous two singles got.
