Five :P

Sorry for being pedantic

...doh!!! :D

I forgot all about 'Gravity'. Not surprising as it's by far my least fave Pixie Lott single.

The chart run for The Holy Bible is 6-25-56-out, then to re-enter at #64 at a later date. Would it really be that high?

Same with Unknown Pleasures, one week in the top 75 at #71.

I meant trickle sales because they are critically acclaimed albums regularly featuring in All Time lists but I guess neither would have sold 500,000 - even in the long run.

Since when was 'Gravity' classed as popular?

It made the album get back into the top twenty for like 3? months. And #20 isn't 'unpopular' anyway.

Also, it wasn't like 20-47-99-out. It was charting for over half as long as CMO charted for.

It sold incredibly well despite the peak and did wonders for the album's sales, so it is.

I thought 'Cry Me Out' was the big "album seller" rather than 'Gravity'. 'CMO' was perfect in a MOR + Radio 2 audience (over 25s) + still popular with kids. 'CMO' was exactly like 'Issues' by The Saturdays - popular with kids but also appealing to an adult market.

They both gave the album big boosts but IIRC Gravity gave it a more sustained boost.

It was but it's fair to say 'Gravity' kept it up there for a whole lot longer too.

I'm sure you're right but whilst 'Gravity' was in the charts, I'm sure the video channels were still frequently playing 'Cry Me Out'. Same with most local UK radio stations. Maybe it was a combined force. :P

That's pretty much always the case though, radio and music channels find it hard to let go of past tracks that were big.

Hmmm well done Pixie. I have the album and I only like the singles and My Love and Here We Go Again

TBH.. i don't see the point In Pixie Re-Releasing Turn it up.. She should move to her 2nd album i think.. she's already had a deluxe!

"Cry Me Out" is probably my least favourite Pixie single :(

Turn It Up>>>>>>Boys & Girls>Gravity>>>>>>>>>>Mama Do>>Cry Me Out

But "Here We Go Again" is better than them all

 I love it when people think that a very recent album is the 'biggest success' at something totally not knowing about the pervious 40 years of charts!
The album's sellers were definitely 'Cry Me Out', 'Gravity' and 'Turn It Up'. Even though it climbed back into the top 10 from 'Cry Me Out' and 'Turn It Up', I think 'Gravity' definitely sold the album most.

I think Gravity seemed a popular track, even though it had a low peak in the singles chart. Like I heard it a lot on the radio, and I heard a lot of people playing it. Turn It Up peaked higher, but I barely hear it on the radio, and nobody really talks about it. I suppose the track is like a year old, and it's still getting bought, so I'll let it off.

Her next single is with Jason Derulo so that'll probably be a huge hit and will get her album back top ten.

Seriously!? That's going to do wonders for her if she wants to make it big in the US!!

I just hope it's a good song. I like most songs from both artists, so hopefully it'll be good.

Dookie by Green Day is the best selling album not to make the top 10, isn't it?
.

This is why it's important to keep an album selling consistently over time, the peak or first week sales can sometimes mean bugger all if it can't keep selling. They've pretty much launched her perfectly and it's an example to follow.

Definitely. She's had good promotion and plenty of singles to help ensure the album sells consistently.

Some other Artists/Labels should take note.

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf spent just two weeks in the top 10, peaking at #9 in late 1981 some three and a half years after the album first charted. Up to 14 June 2009 it had sold 2,942,717 copies, the 20th best selling album of all time. It has so far spent 2 weeks in the top 10, 54 weeks in the top 20 and 244 weeks in the top 40.
