2012 would actually be a good year for the UK to host Eurovision purely because London is hosting the 2012 Olympics. So there will already be plenty of people from other countries flocking to the UK next summer anyways. This way, all the Eurovision fans can come along to watch Eurovision and support their own countries at the Olympics at the same time.

It's good for the UK economic recovery, no? (letting people from Europe come to the UK to spend money?) :D

Plus, 'I Can' is the most contemporary track the UK has sent in...well, forever ( :P ) so it deserves to do well. There's no bias here, I honestly think the UK have a strong chance. Still have to beat France who even now I still think is our only threat.

I heard Blue's entry on Paul O'Grady show last night. Its a really weak song, Blue are capable of much better.

'Bubblin', 'U Make Me Wanna', 'Curtain Falls' <--- weak songs

'I Can' is better. Just my opinion of course, and I prefer this to some of their other hits too.

I am by no means a Blue fan, but I'm familiar with all of their singles and a few album tracks and for me I Can is easily their strongest single.

Are they?

All Rise and Curtain Falls are the strongest for me! Especially All Rise, what an opener for a band!

I agree 'All Rise' was an ace debut single but as they became more popular, the irony is that I liked their singles less and less.

If 'I Can' does do well, it makes me wonder where Blue will go from here. It's all well and good them trying to re-establish themselves are hitmakers but ideally Blue will actually have some "hits". If not, the download era won't be as kind as the physical era was for them.

Then again UK media is snobbish so will use their powers to brainwash the UK public into thinking they've got no chance in succeeding. Therefore Blue will probably bomb regardless of how good the music is. They will probably make a bigger impact across Europe post-Eurovision.

'I Can' is without DOUBT the best thing they've done, ever. 'If You Come Back' is definitely second. But I'd still say 'Lay Your Hands', 'No Worries' and 'Coming Around Again' by Simon Webbe is the best thing to come from something Blue related! - OK maybe second as I am really, really loving 'I Can' so much at the moment haha.
Agree Jon. I'd put Breathe Easy in their too. I really am hoping with all the positive looks of our chances to win or do well this year comes true and hoping to not flop after all of it. I Can needs to be THE WINNER Hopefully Top 3 by the most as the odds are predicting.

'No Worries' was in a different league. That was pop at its finest and even I wouldn't regard 'I Can' being as good as that.

Just watched them on So You Think You Can Dance, and Lee really is the weak link.

I still don't see them winning. I see us doing well, but I see Lee overscreeching and Saade just strolling on past to take the trophy.

I thought it was another very good performance, like that but slightly better in two weeks please :D Obviously not all those dancers are allowed - anyone know if they're having two dancers or two backing singers with them in Germany? Or just the band?

Yes, another good performance :) And having the crowd behind them made it even better - hopefully they can do it in Dusseldorf too!

So, it's available to download now and very nearly top 40 on iTunes after 8 hours (although the E.P. isn't even top 200 bizarrely ). The E.P. also includes the original mix, which includes a middle eight :o Although the production on it is far weaker.

They really need to get this E.P. out across Europe though because at the moment, it's only available on other iTunes stores via the album, which it's locked to as 'album only'. Perhaps somebody with Twitter (looking at you Tom Kay :P) could make them aware of this fact and hope that they do something about it! God knows we don't want 'Lena syndrome', of it coming out 2 days after the hype has died, happening across Europe - they deserve an international smash hit with this!

Simon Webbe had a shockingly great solo career so it's a surprise to see him sort of shoved to the back again now  Lay Your Hands was my favourite, reminds me of starting uni in late 2005  Coming Around Again was brilliant too, although rather murdered by overuse in a DFS advert iirc...

I expect they'll want to make full use of the backing singers that they can to boost the acoustics and harmonies on the night, so they'll probably take two on with them, although I don't know that for sure.

Indeed, I don't see Saade getting past them at all. As far as I'm concerned, and always have been, France are our only real threat this year. I'll be prepared to eat my words though if we come 10th and France come 15th

Listen carefully and you'll hear the sound of a SMASH!

Blue up to #25/#213 on iTunes and climbing quickly by the looks of it :cheer: We last went into the contest with a proper hit with Precious - Say It Again I think (Daz I suppose had been a top 15 hit pre-contest which was decent enough), so hopefully we can put the crap of the noughties behind us and move on this decade to become one of the top countries in the contest again!

Done  I can't believe how well this is doing actually :o I think the reason it might be so high as an individual track is because there have been problems downloading the bundle, certainly I only managed to get the first two tracks, the rest have download errors... And as for the Simon thing, it sounds like he is uprfront on the chorus on the studio version of the radio edit, but weirdly not live...

Thanks for that  Really? I managed to get all 3 tracks + the video no problem just after midnight.

Anyway, this has crawled up to #16 (and #122) now but slowed significantly during the day which is understandable with the ESC diehards and their fanbase out of the way now. The physical plus the promos during the week should ensure it gets a top 20 debut which is actually better than I expected, but it will probably drop off majorly during the week, not picking up again until the back end of next week. I expect a chart run something like this;

14-29-8 (could be higher if they win or come 2nd)
