I feel like I’ve seen this headline every day for the past week. They removed all aid organisations from Gaza claiming Hamas steal the aid. Inserted their own aid in which everyone has to come to the same location to receive any and then find excuses to shoot and kill dozens or hundreds per day. Pretty insane

What’s obvious is if that many people are dying that way then many thousands more must be close or on the edge too. I imagine a lot of starving people were deterred from getting food for fear of being shot. All this just feels by design to me. David Lammy made some comments but it all feels tame compared to what is actually taking place.

I'd also imagine some would rather be shot than starve to death, absolutely harrowing stuff.

It certainly appears as if it’s being by design at the moment. Horrible stuff. The comments made by the UK and other countries isn’t something you often see in relation to allies.

Issue is, we can condemn them all we want, on a diplomatic stage the only country they’ll listen to is America.

I don't really comment on this topic much so.

I don't mean this to be harsh but I don't understand why it seems to come as a surprise to even the people that talk about Israel committing a genocide when they keep doing it more and more or worse and worse.

Do people not understand yet that Israel plans to kill every single person inside Gaza, whether quickly or slowly? That's what genocide is.

And I mean on that point. This is also my own experience speaking but what exactly has the peaceful protest against Israel or pro Palestine actually achieved? We are dealing with a warmonger state filled with a population that are all military trained and which seems to favour promoting sadists to a position of power, hence why it's army and military is doing what it is.

Peaceful protest does nothing against zealotry like that. It looks like a sunk cost at this stage. This is seriously one of the issues I have with a lot of modern peaceful activism; it makes the activist feel like they're doing something but doesn't actually have any impact on shifting the experience of the persecuted people outside of spiritual solidarity.

I think at this stage we have to look at America and Israel as the one entity when it comes to eleminating the Palestinian people.

The German government has now suspended arms shipments to Israel. They refuse to provide arms for the new Israeli plan that is so bad even the head of the IDF is against it. And when a war criminal says no, you know it’s gotta be bad

I'm glad to at least see one nation actually doing something concrete to sanction them, weak finger wagging and saying this is wrong is doing nothing at this stage. The cards are on the table now - he fully intends to take Gaza City, contradicting their earlier foreign policy, and the US is just shrugging it's shoulders, they're not gonna stop while they've still got that support.

I'm trying my hardest to not doom-scroll and despair, but it's pretty tough right now, what a bleak world we live in.

Yeah it is pretty mad, but it just proves what everyone has long thought - as long as they have US backing they can do anything.

What's bonkers is these administrations are seemingly going against public opinion and are fully ideology based.

Absolutely, everyone laughed at the Trump idea with the AI video of Trump Plaza being there but it was fully what they want. It’s all new capitalist real estate to them scumbags and it doesn’t matter what the Palestinians think.

Isn't Trump's plan to expel the people there and make a "riviera"? Doesn't surprise me he just shrugs.

I truly hope that more people are able to escape Gaza.

I don't believe they will be able to stay but Israel should at least give them the dignity to become refugees rather than massacre them man woman and child. Just disgusting. If there's a hell that's where they're going people that did such things.
