Had enough now Just downloaded it on HMV, Tesco and Amazon and some of the remixes. The albums only £6.99 plus I got a signed copy of their Single so I don't mind spending a little bit on downloads..May buy another 1/2 downloads later in the week if they need it.
Looks like all The Sats fans have pulled out all the stops downloading the Steve's club mix now at 878 :D

Yes, they get more downloads because they are #1 on a download website.

I think ultimately that tons of promotion, TV and airplay stand for nothing unless the song is very good. 'Missing You' is very marmite and shouldn't be lead single at all. 'Higher' is wayyy safer and much more likely to do well in the charts. Their label need to stop the risks with The Sats as If This Is Love/Forever Is Over/Missing You are too love/hate and aren't representative of their albums at all. :(

Only on Itunes it's true I think casual users see it at the top and then have a listen to the preview if they like it they buy it. Also especially younger teens buy the music that's at the top in order to look cool. :D

Can i be honest, thats ridiculous.

Missing you is instantly catchy and a pretty much normal pop song, hardly can be classified as a risk.

The fact is they do not have the strong enough fanbase to reach #1.

#1's arent everything anyway at the end of the day.

Video hasnt hit TV yet in UK so cant wait till it does :)

It has hit music channels.. I've seen it a few times already

I don't think them releasing Missing You first was a problem at all. A lot of people I know who aren't really fans of The Sats love Missing You.. Its just that more people seem to like CCHM

& its always good to save your best single for a 2nd release rather than 1st as it will encourage people to buy the album, so will keep the album selling consistently

& people say JLS fans are bad

I don't think I've ever bought any of their singles/album more than once

I think he means that when songs get to #1 on iTunes, they usually have a bit of a surge, if you look at the pop-bars. I suppose it's similar to the top 10 effect. I guess having the single cover on the front page gives the song a bit of extra promotion. Some people pay a lot of money for their singles to have that priveledge.

In terms of marmite lead singles, they can sometimes be very successful, like Boom Boom Pow from last year. But if you're going to go down that route, the song usually has to be so dividing that the half of people that like it are numerous enough to get it to number-one regardless, if that makes sense.

Also, I often buy tracks more than once, but it's only ever to get different versions of the song. That's why I really think people should make really good different versions of their songs. Imagine if Jay-Z and Alicia Keys had Empire State of Mind, Part II as a remix of Empire State of Mind, and promoted both simultaneously, and combined the sales. It would've been a million seller.

You may not get this much, but I really appreciate you doing this everyday, interesting to see.

This is just insane.  I hope the Saturdays fail to make #1 this week because it's more than enough of non-number-ones this year. Diana, Dizzee, JLS, the Wanted (+ two charity singles to some extent as they also had really bad chart-runs) and now this! I'm teaming Flo Rida. :P

No way. 'Missing You' is more representative of 'Headlines' more so than 'If This Is Love' & 'Forever Is Over were for their respective albums... Plus I would hardly say it was a "risk" releasing 'Missing You' as it's not too far away from the sound that's quite big right now (the Taio Cruz-y sorta sound - Yes I'm aware Taio produced it :P). All we know is, no matter what, this will be their biggest opening week, whether they're 1, 2 or 3. I think that in itself shows that there is still demand for The Sats/which will prevent them from getting dropped.

Thank you! I actually wasn't sure if people would like it because its 300-1000 but I figured I'd keep doing it until someone says something; so it's nice to hear that someone actually appreciates it. :)

It's true that Club Can't Handle Me seems much more popular than Missing You. People can't stop talking about it on facebook, so it would be a bit strange if it missed out on number-one.

Same goes for Love the Way You Lie.

Oh and also, don't forget Flo is also benefitting from the release of 'Step-Up 3' this weekend just gone :P which is probably the main reason for him grabbing the number 1 spot over the weekend...
