It just shows how daft the nation is! They can play 5 seconds of I Gotta Feeling on X Factor and it comes back on the charts again.

And u cannot tell me that 5 seconds sell the song!

Primitive.

WHat the hell is wrong with people?

People hear songs on x factor and think oh i like that song going to download it WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL AND WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT? Seriously people have got to stop being so sad and bitter.

Actually, "primitive" is:-

...failing to grasp that a lot of people don't listen to the radio 24/7 and only hear a song for the first time on shows like The X Factor.

... even those that do listen to the radio occasionally may not have heard said song.

... furthermore, some songs are from decades ago therefore for younger people they won't necessarily have heard it - even if they have themselves scouted out some older tracks for their personal listening pleasure.

... and finally, visuals bring a song to life and having someone sing it in front of you on the TV can add a different meaning/interpretation/effect to a song.

So in conclusion, it doesn't show how daft the nation are - it shows how daft the numpties are that criticise The X Factor for actually (god forbid!) increasing music sales as a result of the above.

RUBBISH blether :puke2:

I despise the fact that Pixie Lott is doing well with this cover-nothing against Pixie or the version/song itself-but the woman who sang it came on and said 'I'm going to perform Pixie Lott's version of Use Somebody'-get your own version, love! It was basically advertising and I wouldn't have been surprised to see the woman collect a massive bag of cash after leaving the stage. The song is 'Use Somebody' and if you're going to sing someone's 'version' than you should be on Stars In Their Eyes, not X-Factor. Rant over!

I only object to Pixie's version doing so well because she was truly the worst judge they have ever had on.She was mean and ill mannered especially with those who sang better than her.Plus her intro was so funny 5 Top 20 hits ha ha.

I definitely agree on that. For the poor lad who sang the Script, she said 'I can't see how you'll fit into today's industry' so she's basically saying that regardless of talent, you have to be exactly what's already out there? And what, really, does and artist whose only album is not yet double paltinum and whose no.1s were two of the lowest selling no.1s of last year know about the industry? That goes for most judges, actually qualified people wouldn't touch a judging spot on X-Factor.

That would be today's industry where The Script have a top five single and look set to have a number one album.

Apart from that, your point is spot on. Nothing original has come out of the programme and I doubt it ever will.
