I don't know if I just had my expectations set far too high but I found that rather disappointing.

It was good but it only lasted 50 minutes. It started at 21.03 and effectively ended at 21.53.

I haven't watched any Torchwood (or Doctor Who) related for years but I thought I'd catch this to see what is was like as I'd heard so much about it.

I must say that I RATHER ENJOYED it, but the 'coming this season...' part at the end was a tad too long, no? I didn't want to see the whole series in ten minutes!

I actually found it quite good, probably because I was so much engrossed in it.

I do like the new characters, they sort of fit in already. It was pretty fast paced. Can't wait for next week's episode.

And I think at one point the TV went pitch black, if you blinked you could have missed it.

Almost sad to see something so British Americanised so much, but it was still excellent and I genuinely want to know what is going on!

I'm Welsh *slaps* is totally something I'm going to start doing everyday now.

Liked it, didn't love it. Felt too American and therefore like a completely different show. Gwen still really annoys me whenever she's on screen for reasons I can't quite place. Previews for the coming episodes look decent.

I can't stand the practice of showing clips from the next episode before the credits so showing clips from a whole series is even worse. Thankfully I could use the mute button and attend to a few things in the kitchen.

I really loved it, great opener and it's clearly going to get better by all the coming next parts at the end.

Definitely better than Doctor Who at the moment (which I have no interest in at all anymore)

And people complained DW had been AMericanised  because it had 2 episodes in the US of A.

Torchwood has been completely Americanised (not a bad thing as I loved US shows like Heroes, 24), but it has that feeling it's going to be more epic than it ever has been! 1st episode was a bit of a disappointment after all the hype, but introducing a near new cast, was always going to do that. The coming weeks I hope raises it up! Completely intrigued to know who/what is causing it :D It has to be something to do with death row guy!

I enjoyed it, and it was a great start to the series, but it just felt like a completely different programme to the Torchwood we saw in series one and two. I'm intrigued to see the rest though, and it was very gripping at times. LOVING the new girl as well; her introduction to Jack reminded me of when Gwen joined Torchwood, which was nice.

Are you sure you didn't actually just blink?

Well... I could have blinked

I enjoyed it. It does admittedly feel like a very different beast, and the Hollywood influence is obvious.

But I kind of like the more "epic" and cinematic feel to it, they've now got the budget to blow up helicopters on Welsh beaches, Eve Myles is as good as ever, and it's still retained it's OMFG factor (THAT "alive" suicide bomber). I also have faith in the scriptwriting to suitably deal with all the questions/implications of "what if no-one died, ever?" - I still remember the sterling job they did with the last series (the spine-chilling and oddly plausible "If we can't identify the lowest achieving 10% children of this country, then what are the school league tables for").

Just watched the second episode.

I do not trust that PR girl in the red coat at all, something majorly fishy going on there.

Also that creeped me out when suddenly the pervert/muderer wasn't getting all sympathy and apologizes and then Oprah Winfrey wanted him on her show. I'm not completely certain whether he was legitimately sorry or not when he made his apology but jeez people still shouldn't be sucking up to him afterwards. Bleh...

Actually, I'm not sure how this killer guy will fit into this in the grand scheme of things. Maybe he's just representative of the whole world and it's laws going to pot because of this "miracle".
