Might give it a little boost! The 1st version has definitely stalled behind Murs now - is the 2nd version still climbing or has that stalled now too?

 

At the last spot of measuring (9pm Thursday), combined Katy was 25% ahead of Murs on iTunes, so the gap between them on iTunes is still increasing (as a result of the 2nd version increasing despite the 1st version stalling) - for info, the relative combined lead was 23% Thursday 11am, 19% Wednesday 3pm, 17% Wednesday 1pm and 14% Wednesday 12 noon.

 

Katy's selling more per day on downloads than Murs right now (approx 2.2k more downloads per day), however this will be counteracted to some extent by Murs' Physicals and may in fact be reversed:-

1. If Murs is selling 10k physicals for the whole week, he'll be shifting approx 900 per day so Katy will be reeling him in by a net 1.3k per day - so it all comes down to the lead he had at the start of the week.
2. If he's shifting 20k physicals for the whole week, he's outselling Katy per day (by approx 250-300 copies net) even with the current net TD lead of 25% on iTunes.

that doesn't make sense, or am i missing something? cus the cd sales week is monday to saturday 6 days, thus if he sells 10k thats an average of over 1,800 a day?

 

He probably hasn't even sold that many cd sales. Physical sales are embarassingly low nowadays :drama:

It assumes download sales on non-Itunes sales are broadly equal for Murs and Perry.

Yeah but a large proportion of the sales will have been on the opening day - Monday. I assumed 40% of all physical sales were made on Monday, with the remainder distributed in a convex curve with the low point on Wednesday/Thursday.

I think the next 2 weeks there are no clear #1 contenders so katy perry will get #1 next sunday if she doesnt make it this sunday. Hope olly can make it, however its going to be SO close!
