Westlife have moved their release date back too, so it will be Westlife vs. JLS in both singles and albums

Im sure Westlife will lose on both counts- Their song is nothing new and they cant seem to get number 1s any more, Im sure they'll be on XF though

combine the fact that JLS' new song's for charity and the fact they usually sell very well , and it should be an easy number 1- could even be the highest opening sales of the year

Iam more intresting in the single battle. TT could have their 12 number one single. Do they have a chance? and when can we hear that x factor single they be racing against?

 at all these changes of the release dates!

I believe JLS will beat Westlife in the albums but it will be close. No point in discussing the singles.

If somebody could battle "Heroes" it is TT(?) .They are normally not the greatest singles sellers but they have a very strong single + the reunion thing going on. It depends on how much the charity single will sell on first and second week... If it sells a tremendous amount of copies 'The Flood' will fall short (only to overtake in the total sales a few weeks later). Keep in mind we are on a strong downloads era and TT have XF as well... there is a chance people will buy the single in masses if the performance meets expectations.

If they have moved their release date because of Take That then I think they would have been better off keeping it as the 15th

They will now be competing with Take Thats 2nd week sales AND JLS 1st week

So will probably end up Top 3 or even Top 5 if Susan Boyle is still around

I think it will be like this..

8th Nov:

Singles - Take That #1

15th Nov:

Singles - JLS #1, Take That #2, Westlife #4

Albums - Take That #1

22nd Nov:

Albums - Take That #1, JLS #2, Westlife #3

22nd Nov:

Albums - Take That #1, JLS #2, Westlife #3

i dunno i think that JLS cud get the no1 album it will be close between them and TT but they could just manage it

There's just no way!!! The Circus opening week sales were twice as much as Jls debut album sales. Progress will be even bigger, i am sure.

i kno it will be difficult for them and progress will be one of the biggest selling albums of this year if not the biggest but JLS are goin up against TT's second weeks sales, they could manage it

i learned after last year not to underestimate them

Whilst watching MTV Hits, I noticed that they had a scrolling news banner at the bottom of the screen, and it just said:

"Take That have moved their album release a week forward, to avoid a JLS chart battle".

So which is true? Demand, or avoiding a JLS chart battle? :kink:

Wouldnt look great for JLS if they cant reach #1 because of Take Thats second weeks sales..JLS could get #1, will be close i think.

It is strange how they brought it a week forward but it may be for the best as maybe it is because of 'demand' and they'll want to benefit from the hype for as long as possible..

I think they would have beaten JLS to #1 anyway..

Definitely the latter!

'Kath' have you been putting your name after every post for over 16,000 posts? :o

I really doubt they were scared of a battle with JLS, Take That are being spoken about everywhere, we're all aware they would beat anyone they release the same week as.

To be fair i don't think JLS would have stood a chance in an Album chart battle with TT, they may have beaten them in the singles but it would have been very close, i had thought if TT pulled off an epic performance on X factor then they would have possibly clinched it. I think they will beat the X factor song easily, as they have The Flood on pre-order as well, both will do over 100k i reckon.

Westlife moving their release date doesn't surprise me, though if they think they will beat JLS i think they better think again i can see them struggling to go top 3. TT could well stay at no.1 for the rest of the year like the circus did.

Though i don't know what i'd like to have seen more TT giving Westlife a good pasting or giving JLS a good thrashing

Definitely the latter!

Why would they do it?Avoided Jls just to face Xfactor single? No sense at all as Xfactor was way more serious competitor than Jls and Westlife put together.

Well this is Gary Barlow's reasons for changing their release dates,
"We're able to see the pre-orders now on albums and it's massive, so we thought let's pull everything forward."

No ... I signed off Norma before that!

I was joking about TT being scared of JLS :)

Kath

So now when the X-factor single is deleyed. Who will TT be fighting with in the UK single chart for the number one?
If only all those people who bought + 1 million tickets for their Progress Tour would buy their single and album as well, TT will be number one for weeks and weeks and weeks....

Though my favourites are TT I feel sad for Westlife!

They had nothing to worry about for getting back to number 1 until TT changed their release date! :(

Now whatever they do, move their album forward or delay it, they have no chance: hard competition this month and lots of XF acts!

8 Nov: James Blunt, Susan Boyle.

15 Nov: TT (+shayne ward :D )

22 Nov: JLS, TT second week

29 Nov: Duffy, Olly Murs (+Leona Lewis live)

Westlife should release in December...

As you'll have seen on eBay and a load of other re-sell sites ... those million tickets were not purchased by one million fans! Whole chunks have been bought up in bulk so it won't reflect sales of the album.

It'll still sell bucketloads though.

Kath

All 3 are Performing on X Factor on the same week

Predictions

Take That: Number 1 Album (2 weeks) & Number 1 Single

JLS: Number 1 Single & Number 2 Album

Westlife: Number 3 Single & Number 3 Album
