I wonder how that will work will it be the live performance as is or will they tinker with it first.I cannot imagine some of the acts will sound vocally that good to release anything.

I've heard that they've been going into the studio this week to record studio versions but I don't know if that's true. They should follow what AI do but then when has Simon cared about the viewers?

99p for a 2 minute live performance is a rip-off by any means. I may as well rip the performances of youtube.

99p hardly going to break the bank  But it all adds up i guess. Maybe they'll be 79p?

Yeah i think they will be eligible to chart like the glee songs are.

They will probably record the songs and release recorded versions..

'Miami 2 Ibiza' looks set to become a monster hit across Europe. Swedish House Mafia feat. Tinie Tempah could end up becoming another of those big selling singles that never peaked at #1 if its success in Europe is anything to go off (which as seen already in 2010 isn't exactly reliable - 'Waka Waka', 'Wonderful Life', 'Satellite', 'Alors On Danse').

Another dance track that looks like it's gonna be massive is 'Barbra Streisand' again judging from the early signs of European chart success.

The charts next week would be madness if all the X Factor performances ended up charting. Would be hilarious if Rebecca Ferguson (I chose Rebecca deliberately ^_^ ) ended up outselling Joe McElderry in next weeks UK chart.

It says on iTunes:

''To protect the intergrity of the X Factor competition, sales information in relation to the live contestant performances from the current season of X Factor will not be reflected in any published sales chart.''

Good. They might publish the sales figures alongside the weekly public votes of each results show after the live final. Can you imagine if an X Factor contestant actually ended up outselling the official UK no. 1 single between now and Christmas. :drama:

I think they should chart though. The charts are supposed to show what the most bought songs of the week are.

Oh, but of course, Simon Cowell gets everything he wants, and he can break the rules so that his show keeps its viewers.

Any normal person wouldn't be able to have it both ways like Simon can.

Plus, I don't even think they would even reflect the most popular act to such an extent anyway.

LOL, Bruno Mars is back at #1 :drama:

Weekend effect seems to be hitting hard for SHM, strangely enough... already quite a bit behind WITS

Big hits that are a few weeks or months old get a boost at the weekend due to being played on nights out.

That seems a bit forced to me.

And JTWYA is not a type of the song that gets played on nights out.

So the likes of Katy B and Taio Cruz, Flo Rida etc. would be part of the weekend effect?

The weekend effect also makes new releases go down for some reason (they then recover on Mon/Tues)

I've noticed this and don't understand it. Do all DJ's only play songs that have been around for a few weeks? Is there not a single DJ in the UK at this moment in time who has 'Miami 2 Ibiza' for example. Or maybe clubbers are requesting older chart hits hence they get played more.

The mind boggles...
