Yes, it is!

It became a Platinum single on 22.05.15.

By 2017 there were sold 638,800 copies.

I suppose now it's around 700,000.

That's good, I still love the flood it was the perfect single for them when robbie rejoined but I was so disappointed it didnt go number 1.

I love the Flood, anything about it, the video, the performances, the lyrics, the tune

It was a great song to come back with as a 5 piece. for me as TT friend because of Robbie, Progress and the tour was one of the best moments for me.

TAKE THAT - THE FLOOD

Songfacts®:

This is the lead single from British pop band Take That's sixth studio album, Progress. The song features Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams on lead vocals and was the first to feature Williams since his return to the band in July 2010 after an absence of fourteen and a half years. It was written by all five Take That members.

The song's music video was filmed on Dorney Lake in Berkshire, the venue for the rowing events at the 2012 Summer Olympics and also on the Thames at Runnymede, Surrey. The clip features the five members of the band racing against another crew in specially made sculling boats, customised to accommodate a fifth rower. The quintet are all clad in old-fashioned white rowing kits. This was the first Take That single since August 1995's "Never Forget" to feature the five original band members all singing together on a record.

Progress was the first album to shift half a million copies in its first week of sale in the UK this century. Coldplay previously held the post 2000 record with a sale of 464,000 for X and Y in June 2005.

Progress was the best selling album of 2010 in the UK despite only coming out in November. It sold 1.4 million copies in its five weeks of release. Runner-up was Michael Bublé's Crazy Love whilst Lady Gaga's The Fame was third on the list.

Take That acknowledged this epic song on the band's track-by-track analysis to be possibly the best from Progress: "It's an epic sounding song," said Robbie. "It needed epic words and a big melody." Robbie added that he firmly believes the song to be about the quintet. "It's like all the outside forces trying to break through the dam and we are the dam."

Yeah I think 'The Flood' is also my favourite of theirs now too. It was 'Shine' for ages but this has overtaken it now.

Also deserved #1 over that annoying Rihanna song too.

I always forgot this video "The Flood" (Behind the scenes).

Would be great to have more stills and videos from that day...

“Take That” rowing video “The Flood”. Robbie Williams is back in the group and this latest video is all rowing related. Non of the boys had any experience at rowing so we had a real challenge with only two hours practice.

Marine Film Services Ltd oversaw the whole project from sourcing the locations to supplying the rowing doubles, coaches, building the two 5 oared sculling boats, marine coordination, supply of all the support boats & camera boats as well as the on set safety.

The view from the front was disconcerting to say the least, imagine what it was like from the back -_-

It's great watching them as 5 again, the flood had a very special feel to it as the journey to getting there was fraught emotional and hard for them but they really did nail it.

Take That as 4 and 5 worked equally great.

As Three, you do sense something missing.

Always loved this performance the atmosphere in the audience seemed brilliant.

Oh my goodness -I can remember watching this performance live on TV through my fingers -hoping nothing would go wrong and being so relieved when it all went off smoothly. ^_^

Ya i had a bit of that feeling too and it was a hugely hyped performance that to be fair lived up to expectations.

Do you remember that there were two performances of The Flood on Xfactor?

For the second one everybody were waited for S.O.S. performance but they did The Flood again.

And the performnce above this thread is their first one.

But the second one was even better and sronger in my opinion: more relaxing, for sure.

Here it is:
