I agree with Chris that it was a real gasp-out-loud moment, I remember not being able to concentrate on the rest of the performance because I was that shocked. I was impressed with how she got up and carried on, even though at the at moment you didn’t know how injured she was or not. I remember people saying it was a stunt due to the lyrics but there’s no way Madonna would purposely mess up a performance like that, she’s too much of a professional.

Like, I know she's an attention seeker at the best of times but she's not exactly going to risk life-changing injuries just to sell a few thousand more copies of a single.
