October 18, 201014 yr Kylie really does love the #2's! 13 of them. Kylie's the queen of #2s and Rih's the princess :P 11 of them. Although 7 #1s eases that pain a bit.
October 18, 201014 yr This will be an interesting chart battle. I hope Rihanna goes number 1 tho because she has the better song. Airplay for only girl is maore massive than promise this .
October 27, 201014 yr Well not all too necessarily... same happened to a lot of Rihanna's singles. Only Girl will sell more than a lot of this year's number ones, making it a definite number one if it wasn't released with Cheryl. What song was Russian Roulette behind? Forgot. Rude Boy was behind Pass Out but both sold well :yahoo:
October 27, 201014 yr What song was Russian Roulette behind? Forgot. Rude Boy was behind Pass Out but both sold well :yahoo: 'Russian Roulette' was kept off no. 1 by Peter Kay's 'BBC Children In Need Medley' with all the cartoon characters. Personally, I thought the Peter Kay song/video was absolute genius.
October 27, 201014 yr I did prefer the Peter Kay song to Russian Roulette to be honest. Russian Roulette was just really boring and depressing, whilst the Children in Need Medley was a really fun track, in my opinion, plus, it was a medley rather than a full-on cover, so clearly a bit more work was put into it, and it was something I'd never heard before. I know it was a charity song, but I thought it was a good song in its own right. Rude Boy did deserve a #1 to be honest, but it was beaten by Pass Out, one of 2010's iconic tracks. I preferred Rude Boy to Pass Out, but Pass Out has had such an influence this year. I know many people my age will remember it the rest of their lives (although I'll wouldn't mind completely forgetting about it tbh.). Only Girl also seems like a #1 song, but I think it's got a decent chance of actually getting there next week! :)
October 27, 201014 yr Mike Posner to 4 :cheer: I personally preferred the CIN medley to Russian Roulette, I never liked that, it was boring- Peter Kay whilst not exactly a great song, was a genius concept and video, and Rude Boy I got really sick of Only Girl is far better and I would be OK with this at number 1
October 27, 201014 yr No 'Russian Roulette' was amazing :(. I guess it wasn't to everyones taste though, I adored the production, the lyrics and her vocals on it. And the video for it is probably her best as well imo. It's amazing live too.
October 28, 201014 yr Did I say earlier that OG was Rihanna's second worst single? I take that back, it's her third worst. TAB is still her worst but I forgot about RR. What a dreary, depressing song. Hate.
October 28, 201014 yr Russian Roulette was, and stil is, a great song, raw emotion! I was pretty scared when I first saw that video  I suppose she needed that kind of song to fully enter her 'dark' era. Anyway, back on topic, Rihanna might over-take Cheryl before the X Factor? Very close! I was wondering about that. I thought we was an old jazz artist or something  Edited October 28, 201014 yr by Klumzee
October 28, 201014 yr No way! :o 'Russian Rouletter' is the 2nd best thing on 'Rated R'. Also, Bray, 'Take A Bow' is my favouritwe RiRi song. There's something really charming and nice about it. I'll never understand the hatred it gets lol :( Go ')ike A G6'! It'll. Be massive whenever it's released!

It's also annoying for me that *that* got to #1 whereas she has so many amazing songs that only made #2 / top 5... Pon De Replay #2 SOS #2 Shut Up And Drive #5 Don't Stop The Music #4 <- this one especially :( Disturbia #3 Rude Boy #2 + Live Your Life and Love The Way You Lie #2 And it'll be a shame when OG(ITW) gets to #1 on iTunes because that'll mean my three least favourite Rihanna songs have all got to #1 at least on iTunes, and her only decent song to have got to #1 was Umbrella (which, granted, is amazing, maybe not quite worthy of 10 weeks at #1 though) EDIT: Obviously leaving out Run This Town on that last paragraph. Love that song, but it's not a Rihanna song. :P Edited October 28, 201014 yr by ~ braysammich ~

Love that song, but it's not a Rihanna song. :P Funny how all the songs you have listed are very up-tempo (bar LTWYL). 'Unfaithful', 'Don't Stop the Music' and 'Disturbia' are the only Rihanna singles that properly deserved to reach #1 imo that didn't. 'Umbrella' definitely deserved those 10 weeks at #1 (although it's a shame Fergie was blocked from #1) and 'Take a Bow' is a very understated brilliant song which proves that you don't have to belt to deliver a great effective ballad. 'Rude Boy' was great for 2 weeks but quickly got old, cheesy and cringe-worthy.

October 28, 201014 yr Rihanna does uptempo very well, is my response to that. :P Very true but I think it's quite dismissive saying 'Russian Roulette' is boring and terrible just because it's slow. :P Musically, it's really unique and distinctive and the concept is original considering some of the concepts of songs sung by her contemporaries. Regarding 'Take A Bow', the sarcasm makes it for me. :D
October 28, 201014 yr Only Girl is her best song, so i really do hope she gets to #1 with this, and looks like she will as i predicted earlier this week when someone said 'Err no it wont' :coffee: :) Go rihanna! Good top 10 clearout on sunday!

Actually everyone said she would probably get it next week.
October 28, 201014 yr I've just read back people's comments about 'Russian Roulette' and I have to agree with Jack, Jonjo etc. and say that I absolutely adore it! Her second best single behind 'Hard' imo. 'Only Girl' is so lacklustre in comparison to pretty much all her other singles. It's good, but nothing special.
