October 26, 201014 yr I'd actually love this to be number 1 for Christmas! They could probably stock the 2005 re-release CD single in stores too, as there are probably some leftover..
October 26, 201014 yr Author These are the sort of campaigns we need. ACTUAL Christmas songs back at the top of the charts for the festive period. So what if it isn't against The fiX Factor? If it beats it, it doesn't matter either way :P I personally am going to back it and send the link to all my friends on FB because it's a far better song choice than that silence crap. And yes I do see the irony of that. It's stupid. Thanks :) People seem to be forgetting that we haven had an actual Christmas song as our Christmas No.1 and I think that all Xmas No.1's should be Xmas songs! Can I just say people that the campaign isn't a direct attack on the X Factor like I previously said, it's to remember a great singer and finally get a song that deserved to be No.1 to be No.1 after all the re-entries at Christmas
October 26, 201014 yr This is the downside if RATM getting to no 1 last year! We're going to be plagued by these bloody campaigns for the next 2 months... Here's a thought. Why doesn't someone come up with a decent piece of music which enough people like to buy it and it send it to no 1 ON MERIT rather than some stupid f***ing "cause"?

Fairytale of New York would be on merit. It's clearly the best ever Christmas song :D If legal downloads had been around and contributing to the chart in 2000, it might have made it to number one at the time. As it was, she was killed too close to Christmas to get CDs in the shops :(
October 26, 201014 yr I love fairytake of new york and would love to see it number 1, either this or mariah careys all i wnat for christmas is you.,
October 26, 201014 yr And yet another campaign! After the shock success of last year's RATM, everyone seems to think their campaigns are going to head the same way... there can only be 1 #1 on Christmas week. That being said, I do think it's the best song out of all the campaigns to get #1. It's a festive classic. The other campaigns are ridiculous... a few minutes of silence and some random cartoon dribble.
October 26, 201014 yr Author Seems to have lost a lot of fans on the page. There are now under 500 fans when there were 600 an hour ago which is weird
October 26, 201014 yr Chris, James - this is as a valid campaign as any other imo. The RATM and Silence are against the X Factor and Cowell, and this is about having christmas song getting to the top of the christmas charts (plus the best one imo). Win either way surely?
October 28, 201014 yr RATM wasn't a shock, it was almost a given for most of the week runnin up to the xmas chart. And where can I join the Agadoo for xmas 1 campaign, that seems the best idea i've heard so far!

The RATM and Silence are against the X Factor and Cowell, and this is about having christmas song getting to the top of the christmas charts (plus the best one imo). Win either way surely? I thought the point of these campaigns was to have anything but one of Cowell's tribe at #1 for Xmas?

Win either way surely? where did i say it was an anti-x factor campaign, i just said it joined the bandwagon late, so late it cant even get 1000 members where as bird is the word is over 490,000 and john cage is over 40,000. 4'33 is about humour more than against the x factor. i never said it was an invalid campaign, i just said it jumped on a bandwagon, and jumped on that bandwagon to late for enough people to care, so i'm not sure why you are personally naming me, i like the song and have nothing against it being number 1, it just doesnt have the chance.

No, it was: on Friday Joe was "almost there" and only because people discovered multiply versions, that Nokia thing etc. RATM won.
October 29, 201014 yr It's a good song but I like cheerful xmas songs. Happy not depressive. So I'd rather have All I want For Xmas or Oh Santa.
October 31, 201014 yr So if Joe was only 'almost there' on Friday then Rage where in the lead at the point then? I thought Rage had overtaken Joe by abt the Tuesday and then stayed just enough ahead for the rest of the week? Much as I love the Pogues song it just won't work as a xmas#1 campaign, it wd have to have been unavailable for a few years first to recreate demand, and in the download world that won't happen now.
November 22, 201014 yr I actually think that this would annoy Simon Cowell more if it got to Christmas No.1! Perhaps this should the subject of this year's campaign? At least it's a new release. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/s103/the...mas-record.html
